Gautham’s 100-crore Film Fund

Director Gautham Menon has come with a unique idea of setting up a Rs. 100-crore fund for Tamil films, which is said to be the first in Kollywood. The fund can be utilized by production houses for making films, promos, purchasing film and song rights etc.
Gautham plans to add in more people to this venture and that is not limited to film personalities alone. The director, who owns the production house, Photon Factory, said to the Economic Times, “We are speaking to many people and have begun work on getting it registered. We want to get it rolling by November. A lot of people asked me if they could partner us in the films we make, which is how the idea of launching such a fund with investments from non-industry people came about.”
Gautham, who has directed smash hits like Minnale, Kaaka Kaaka and Vettaiyadu Vilayadu is currently on the Silambarasan-Trisha starrer Vinnaithandi Varuvaya.
