Trisha got stuck under Bangkok protesters

Actress Trisha and her crew were shooting in Thailan, Bangkok for the Telugu movie King. After shooting for three days they found themselves caught in the tribulation. Bangkok has become highly volatile with the anti-government protesters.
Trisha and the crew reached the airport to get the flight back to Chennai but unfortunately it was closed by the protestors.
They decided to reach downtown and managed to travel to Phuket, which was free of protestors and boarded the flight back to Chennai. The pretty actress is still shocked and confounded by the incident.
The movie King stars Nagarjuna and Trisha with the direction of Srinu Vaitla.

Pattalam Movie Photo Gallery

‘Pattalam’ is the second film produced by Director Lingusamy’s Tirupathi Brothers.`It was an eventful day for Lingusamy and his production house Tirupathi Brothers as they launched the audio of Pattalam, featuring Nadiya and a Nadiya bunch of youngsters, at Sathyam Cinemas. The function almost resembled a fresher’s day in college!
The young guns of Kollywood — Jayam Ravi, Bharath, Srikanth, Prasanna, Jeeva, Shakti, Jai and the lone girl Vijaylaxmi — presented bouquets to the newcomers being introduced through the film — Kripa, Guru, Vikash, Sathya, Irrfan, Balaji, Hari , Vignesh and Arun.
Says Nadiya, the cynosure of all eyes, who was wearing a brown chiffon sari and a designer blouse, “I had a real blast working with these young guys and the shoot was great fun. I’m sure that the film will appeal to our young audiences.” Nadiya asked the audiences to observe two minutes silence in memory of the martyrs of the Mumbai massacre, in which she had lost two dear friends.
The film is directed by Rohan Krishna whose serial on school life in a Tamil channel created waves. According to him, the story is set against a school milieu. “I would like to emphasise that school days are the best times you ever have as friends and memories of those days will always bring back sweet nostalgia,” he says.
Pattalam has some peppy music by singer and music director Jassie Gift (who can forget Lajjavathiye?). Source: timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Vadivelu dares Captain

Making it clear that he has not left the past behind, Vadivelu kicked up dust once again in the episode of his famously bitter feud with Vijayakanth. He addressed newspersons at Hotel Green Park in the event organized by the producers of Ellam Avan Seyal to thank the media for helping the movie to pull it off at the theaters.
For a question, as to whether he would want to compete against Vijayakanth in the elections Vadivelu shot yes as reply. "I would stand in elections against him in the same constituency as he competes," was Vadivelu's answer. However, he is not for election propaganda against Vijayakanth if the actor is not competing in the elections. "My job is not to do election propaganda," he replied.

TERROR ON SCREEN KOLLYWOOD'S TRYSTS WITH TERRORISM

Films can never fully show what terror means to those who face it, or fight it. But there have been attempts made that have made us think about what it might be like to be in the face of terror.

Uyire
Known more popularly by its Hindi title, Dil Se, Mani Ratnam once again plunged into the mind of a sympathetic terrorist. Stunning performances from Shah Ruk and Manisha Koirala with unforgettable music by Rahman. Mani also chose the lesser known issue of North East Naxalites and their cause. His theme here was not who was right or wrong but how a young couple is swept up in political events and causes larger than them. This happened in Mani’s Kannathil Muthamittal as well.

Terrorist
Santosh Sivan’s Theeviravathi (released worldwide as The Terrorist) is probably the most complex film made on the motives and mind of a terrorist. The suicide bomber is played effectively by Ayesha Darkar, and Sivan shows how torn she is between her humanity and her ideology. It won several international awards.
Aran
An authentic account of terror and the fight against it in the Kashmir valley by a man who has done it himself, Major Ravi. Aran focused more on the dangerous lives lead by the brave commandos countering and thwarting attempt after attempt made by terrorists from across the border. However, the movie also shows ways in which the terrorists operate, at times making use of unsuspecting locals.

Kuppi – Cyanide Story
Maybe the best that has ever come out in terms of depicting terrorist activities. The movie followed the events after the Rajeev Gandhi assassination, the terrorists behind it and their last few days spent under cover before consuming cyanide. The movie also showed the movements of the police forces that fell just short of catching the terrorists alive. Pity it did not do well.
Airport
Another attempt at a factual and hard hitting account about how terrorists function, putting a high security zone under siege. Though not a success at the box office, this remains one of the better attempts in Tamil cinema that have depicted terror.
Bombay
The mid-nineties, terror had now spread to other parts of India, Bombay to be precise. Serials blasts followed communal riots. It required a master like Mani Ratnam to execute such a sensitive subject: he was demonstrating how even communalism can lead to terrorism. The message of communal harmony has seldom been put across more effectively.

Kuruthippunal A cold and realistic look at naxalism, the way it operated and what it took on part of our policemen to counter them. It was a hard hitting account of the risks and sacrifices to maintain internal security and the forces that erode our country from within, without our knowledge.
Roja
Tamil cinema’s first look at terrorism. In the early 90s Kashmir was the only place associated with extremism. Though the movie focused more on the agony of separation of the couple, it also showed the tensions across the border and the compulsions of the people who guard the frontiers.

Kandasamy: Logical Spiderman story

According to the Kandasamy movie director Susi Ganesan the best part of the whole movie is the “Kokarako” character of Vikram. He says it is the famous Superman story with logical touch to fit the adults.
Currently the movie is going through the post production part. Susi Ganesan says the reason why my movie is delaying is because this is his first movie with big heroes and villains.
He says even the post production part has to take another three months.

Ajith Kumar-Sameera Reddy in Saran’s ‘ASAL’

Maybe, the director is trying to depict his script is original and a copycat from Hollywood DVDs. Preferably, there are possibilities for Saran to do for he hasn’t churned out any successful films other than Ajith’s films. Well, Ajith fans may take delight with this news that both Ajith and Saran are working together. Earlier, they had delivered three consecutive hits ‘Kadhal Mannan’, ‘Amarkalam’ and ‘Attagasam’. Later they had plans to join hands again for a film titled ‘Aarpattam’, but it was shelved due to few reasons.
Now, Sivaji Productions and Ajith Kumar have finally zeroed down on Saran for there are no other directors to make a film for them. It has been confirmed that Sameera Reddy has been roped into play female lead role while it would be either Harris Jayaraj or A.R. Rahman scoring music for this film.

Rajni impressed

A smiling ‘Super Star’ Rajnikanth was all praise for Dr Gayathri Srikanth, who along with her husband called on the actor in Chennai after the successful launch of the Tamil version of Rajnikanth’s biograph ‘Rajni Pera Ketalae’.
The actor made anxious enquiries about the mega event, which saw the release of the book amidst popular celebrities. The couple were accompanied by veteran director S P Muthuraman, who has rendered 25 hits with Rajnikanth playing the hero.
Rajnikanth expressed his confidence that her Tamil book too would rock just like the English version, which was released a few months ago.

Pyramid Saimira’s Rekha IPS completes 300 episodes

Pyramid Saimira has been witnessing mixed situations in media channels. Maybe, it is not successful in film industry with Kuselan flunking at box office and ‘Marmayogi’ called off. But, it is quite commendable in small screens as it venturing through some of the best trendsetting series. Amidst of various series where women know only two things: to do evil or cry lamenting to extreme levels.
But two series churned out by Pyramid Saimira are extraordinary with different concepts .With ‘Simran Thirai’ successfully making high waves in Jaya TV; it has accomplished a great work with ‘Rekha IPS’. Of course, Rekha IPS was copied from American based TV series named ‘Alias’.
Subhaa Venkat, Creative Head of Pyramid Saimira Group, says, “When many serials portray their protagonist as weeping family oriented women, we defied that image and etched out a bold heroine devoid of tears. That’s the reason behind the success of this mega”. She adds, “The change of taste in viewers’ appreciation for TV content is also a reason for “Rekha.I.P.S” victory”.
This mega serial is aired on Kalaigner TV from Monday to Friday from 6.30-7.00.P.M. The star cast includes Anu Hasan, Pollachi Babu, V.S. Raghavan, Afsar Babu, Priyatharhsini, Vijay Adhiraj, Krithika, Sri Lekha and Baboos.
The story was penned by Chitra Laxmanan with Thavamani Vaseegaran crafting screenplay and R.N.R. Manohar taking on dialogues. Thyagarajan cranks the camera while O.N. Rathnam handles direction.

Mumbai carnage pains me: Brad Pitt

The man known for his good looks and for good acting skills Brad Pitt has said that he was pained to see the massacre in Mumbai carried out by deplorable terrorists recently. While speaking to CNN's Larry King, the actor said he was in India along with wife Angelina Jolie to shoot for the film 'A Mighty Heart' a couple of years ago. The filming took place in and around Mumbai and the star couple stayed at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The luxury hotel was one of the targets that came under siege by the terrorists.
'I was pained to see the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel under attack. The room that we stayed in was on fire' said Pitt. He also added that India is truly incredible and that it is one of the most amazing countries he had ever been to.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie featured in 'A Mighty Heart' which was based on the murder of an American Journalist Daniel Pearl in Pakistan. The star couple made headlines when they were in India.

Ajith Mania in Kollywood

Most young actors in Tamil filmdom declare Ajith as their favorite hero. The list is only getting bigger and stronger by the day. The man affectionately called 'Thala' finds favor among many young heroes including Simbu, Jai and Nakul.
Jai who is currently enjoying tremendous success, debuted in a Vijay film playing the star's brother. But then his favorite star is Ajith and even goes on to say that he talks to 'thala' frequently and even gets some invaluable tips from the star.
Simbu has declared many a time that he is a fan of Ajith. His soon-to-be-released film 'Silambattam' would showcase him as an Ajith fan.
With so many young stars fervently declaring that they like Ajith, has Vijay been left out? Well, not exactly …. Bharath who is called 'Chinna Thalapathi' is reportedly a die hard fan of 'Illaya Thalapathi' Vijay and talks to him whenever he can for inspiration.

Saamida movie releasing today

Not on Friday as other films, somewhat of difference even with release. Saamida is reported to be filmed on offbeat style placed completely at the backdrops of Kasi. The film has Sembi and Dhanushya in lead role while Vadivudaiyaan has handled story, screenplay, dialogues and direction. Indrajith has scored music and songs aren’t so popular.
The film is releasing all over Tamil Nadu today and since Bala’s ‘Naan Kadavul’ too is based on the same issues of real life incidents in Kasi, possibilities are there for audiences watching this film to compare both.
Over here in Chennai, the film releases in Woodlands Symphony, Bala Abirami, Gopi Krishna, Pandian, Krishnaveni, Maayajal, Rohini, Raaki, Virugambakkam Devi Kumari, Thiruvalluvar Lakshmi and other centres.

On how Naan Kadavul influenced Arya's decision..!

It's probably stale news that Arya is turning producer with his new venture and that his as-yet-untitled production venture will star debutants in the lead. Latest in this series is that Arya, after having been impressed with the Maestro Ilayaraja's music for Naan Kadavul, has persuaded to agree Ilayaraja score for his project.
As for his acting career, he seems to be on a long wait until the cows come home, since his only pipeline project Naan Kadavul, mired with battles between the producers, seems to be showing no progression in its release.

This cricketer prefers Kajol…

The stylish all rounder of the Indian cricket team, Yuvraj Singh, reportedly told the media that he would love to act in a film like Garam Masala with Akshay Kumar. When questioned about the lead lady he would prefer, the cricketer said that Kajol would be his first choice. Yuvraj declined to drag in the names of the new breed of
actresses as it would spark off unnecessary gossips.
He was in Delhi to promote Jumbo, an animation film. Incidentally, Yuvraj will lend his voice for the film’s Punjabi version. Is this an indication that the cricketer is eyeing Bollywood? However, Yuvraj was quick to add that cricket is his priority right now.

Dhoni and Lakshmi Rai: A dinner date?

Indian cricket skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was in Chennai for the selection of the Indian cricket test team for the series against England which kicks off in Chennai soon. Dhoni reportedly had dinner with actress Lakshmi Rai at a private hotel.
This has sparked off numerous rumors that link Dhoni with Lakshmi Rai as having a romance-filled association. When queried, Lakshmi Rai said, 'I am a good friend of Dhoni. We met each other when Dhoni represented IPL's Chennai Super Kings a few months ago'.
'A couple of days ago when Dhoni was in Chennai, we had dinner together at a private hotel, where there was tight security. We are good friends and that is it. We share a good rapport with each other', she said.
The Indian cricket team will play a test match against England in Chennai that begins on the 11th December.

Rajinikanth terms his Enthiran as his last film

Rajnikanth who is well known as a superstar and a Thalaivar of Tamil cinema is considering retiring from the film industry in about next two years. in a recent brief interview on the way to Enthiran location the actor stressed on a fact that he always thinks that the film which he is doing presently will be his final one.

Will Kollywood learn from Mollywood?

At a time when even two-hero subjects are a rarity in Tamil Cinema, the neighboring Malayalam film industry has gone several steps ahead to come out with a movie titled 'Twenty:20', which has all the artistes including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Jayaram, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Prithviraj among others sharing the screen together.
Interestingly, the movie was produced by Dileep for AMMA and has been made at a shoe-string budget of just Rs 6 Crores. However, the film has managed to collect huge amounts at the box office. Fans of all the actors are reportedly relishing the film. Reports also indicate that collections are quite good in other places outside of Kerala.
Will Kollywood take a cue from Mollywood and make a film along the lines of 'Twenty:20'? 'With the industry suffering huge losses due to a series of flops, it is not a bad idea to come out with a film that stars all the big actors,' opine industry men.

Rayilu': Ranjith's comeback vehicle?

Actor Ranjith made a few attempts to play the hero in the past. The actor, who started out tasting success with 'Sindhu Nadhi Poo', played some negative and character roles in between.
Ranjith, who married actress Priya Raman, played hero last in the film 'Pasupathy C/O Rasakapalayam'. The movie directed by Selvabharathy, managed a decent response at the box office.
Now Ranjith is ready to commence his next venture as hero and he himself plans to direct it. Search for the heroine is on currently and the film has been tentatively christened 'Rayilu'.

After Bhavana it's now Trisha's turn

The closure of Bangkok airport SuvarnaBhumi had Trisha on hot waters for a few hours. The actress was in Thailand to take part in the shooting of the Telugu film King. Trisha shares the screen space with Tollywood actor Nagarjuna in this film. After completing the shooting, the team returned to the airport to fly down to Chennai but was shocked to
find the airport closed. The police requested them to leave the place immediately.
Later the team decided to take the road to Phuket Islands and from there flew down to Kuala Lumpur to reach Chennai. Trisha, while recalling her experience said that though she knew about the problem in Bangkok she did not anticipate the closure of the airport. It may be recalled that Bhavana also faced a similar situation a few days ago and got out of it safely.

Yuvan spills the beans on the split

The combination of Yuvan Shankar Raja and Selvaraghavan scorched the Kollywood screens some time back and then came the news that the duo had split and G V Prakash Kumar was roped in to do Selva’s Aayirathil Oruvan. Though Selva and Yuvan never talked about the actual reason, media was at its best giving out different shades to the issue.
However, in a recent interview to a weekly, Yuvan was quoted as mentioning about the actual reason that resulted in their split. He had stated that though they were friends, the same kind of relationship cannot be extended to work and one needs to be professional in that aspect. It was said that Selva never committed Yuvan for his films and the latter was not compensated for his work at any time. When Yuvan’s personal life was in doldrums, the music director was in need of financial assistance but Selva did not help him then.

Endhiran Top Slip top secret

The crew of Shankar’s Endhiran was stationed at Chennai recently and they had canned a reasonable portion of the film with super star. Shankar had shot a few comedy scenes in and around Chennai and the unit was expected to go to Kulu Manali for their next schedule. However, the plans are changed and they have decided to go to Top Slip in the Pollachi region
where the ambience is said to be similar to that in Kulu and Manali. Shooting at top slip and the details regarding the dates of shooting has been kept under wraps.

The present unbeatable actor of Tamil

Suriya is the only actor who understands the motivation of the character that he plays in each scene. I hear the word cute applied to Suriya more than to any other actor, by both men and woman. After KAKKA KAKKA he was worshipped by women. Probably both of these attitudes can be attributed largely to his looks, and to his most famous role in Perazhagan, whose good natured, gentle, and innocent personality appealed to many people. From all I have learned thus far, acting isn't about learning to be who you aren't; it is about finding who you are and your true nature. According to this sentence, Suriya knows himself, and tries to involve himself in story in order to be realistic. Therefore, a good actor is someone who truly knows himself. Most fans comment that Suriya is the other Kamalhasan in the film world. However, in my opinion after having some experience watching all his movies, I have come to the conclusion that he will become a more popular and versatile actor that Kamalhasan. Santhanam bags comedian role in 'Endhiran'

It's not Vadivelu nor Vivek. Santhanam has been given the prestigious opportunity to enact the comedian's role in superstar Rajinikanth's 'Endhiran'.
This appointment comes as a big boost to the young Santhanam who is already making waves with his comic way of acting. Director Shankar hitherto used the services of Vadivelu in 'Kadhalan' and 'Mudhalvan' whereas Vivek was the comedian in the films 'Boys', Anniyan' and 'Sivaji'.
The opportunity of acting with Rajinikanth in 'Endhiran' might just propel the talented Santhanan to absolute stardom.

Jackie Shroff: New hero in town

Popular advertisement filmmaker Thyagarajan Kumararaja has managed a coup of sorts by bringing Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff to act in his maiden venture as director.
Indiaglitz had already reported that Jackie Shroff will play hero in Tamil for the first time and that the movie has been christened 'Aaranya Kaandam', which would be produced by S P B Charan.
When queried as to how he managed to convince Jackie, Kumararaja says, 'the role required a senior person. I got to meet Shroff through a friend. He liked the story and immediately agreed to be a part of it'.
The cast also includes Ravi Krishna, Sampath and Somasundaram of Kooththu-p-pattarai.

I sacrificed 12 film offers for 'Poo': Parvathi

Actress Parvathi who debuted in Tamil films through 'Poo' has been getting rave reviews for an extraordinary performance. The actress played the character of Mari who is blissfully in love with her uncle's son.
The actress has now gone on to say that she would be comfortable working in one film at a time. 'Only great actors like Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal and Shabna Azmi can act in more than one film at a time and end up doing justice to all of them. As for me I can only work in one film at a time' she says.
The actress has also gone on to say that she had to miss out on 12 film offers as she was determined to do justice to the role of Mari in 'Poo'.
When asked about her choice of roles, Parvathi said she would most definitely act out characters that have substance and would not keep acting for the heck of it. 'If I don't get good offers I might even sit at home' declares Parvathi.

December season in Kollywood

A temporary lull in the last couple of months in the industry will be replaced by barrage of movies in December 2008. Saamida, a film that is shot in Kasi, will be out on the 6th. Silambarasan's Silambattam is likely to be released on the 12th while official confirmation is awaited. 'Where is the party tonight' is on the top of charts and his fans are eagerly
awaiting this release. AVM's Aa Aaa Yi Yee with two young couple doing the central role will hit the screens on the 18th.
Besides these movies, other films that are anticipated are: Ravi Krishna and Kamalaini Mukherjee's Kaadal Naa Summa Illai, Abirami Ramanadan's Panjamirtham, Maddy's Guru En Aalu and Aindam Padai. However, Radha Mohan's Abhiyum Naanum which was expected for Diwali may also hit the marquee during this season. Perarasu's Thiruvannamalai with Arjun may throw a surprise with an early release. We will keep you posted.

Rajini's favorite comedian?

Comedian Karunas will feature in director Shankar's film for the first time! Yes, he has been offered a role in Endhiran. Earlier Shankar offered him Vivek's role in Sivaji but Karuna's could not take it up due to call sheet issues. Eventually the role was bagged by Vivek.
However, this time around everything
seems to have worked out well and Karunas has been signed up. It may be recalled that Karunas has already starred with Rajini in Baba.

Rajini, Kamal offer condolences to Prabhu Deva

It was a sad day for actor-director Prabhu Deva's family yesterday (4th December 2008). The 13-year-old son Vishal of Prabhu Deva breathed his last during the early hours. Vishal had been suffering from cancer for quite sometime and his health started deteriorating lately.
Those who visited the family to offer
their condolences include Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith, Vijay, Kushbhu, Nayanthara and Prakash Raj. Vishal's body was cremated at the Besant Nagar crematorium at around 3 pm yesterday.

Jai thanks Ajith

Jai, who began his career in a small cameo in Bhagavathy, made a mark for himself in Chennai - 28. Later on he proved that his success was not a flash in the pan in Subramaniapuram. Now this talented upcoming actor is on a roll and his kitty is full of plum assignments like Aval Peyar Thamizharasi, Arjunan Kaadali, to name a few.
Recently to a poser on who his favorite actor in Kollywood is, Jai came with a prompt reply that it is none other than the Ultimate Star Ajith Kumar. He further went on a laudatory spree, singing Hosannas on the handsome star. Jai says that Ajith does not miss an opportunity to appreciate good work and the Billa star is like an elder brother to him. He also seeks advice from him on his films and Ajith is always ready to help him out.

Remake Fever

I have noticed a `remake´ fever pitching in through recent articles published in Behindwoods, thus I will add my piece of the cake on what movies can be made again in Kollywood, taking a cue from Hollywood and other woods! There have been some really interesting ideas coming in, but my suggestions here are not focused only on how interesting they would be, but also in a sense as to how much these movies could make Tamil cinema a better place to be.
Road to Perdition: Selvaraghavan-Vikram - Daniel Balaji?
Underworld crime sagas have always been a huge favorite among Indian audiences, especially in the south where rawness and realism is associated. The film is a poignant story of a father trying all out to protect his son, and in the process even breaking his loyalty to his own godfather. The morale of the story is on the high side, it is narrated by the son who tells how his father desperately did not want the son to become another gunman like him. And in the end, the son never fires a bullet, and never touches a gun after that. It needs a genuinely talented director to really give the film the proper Indianized take, and given the nature of it, it belongs to Selva Raghavan with somebody like Madhavan or Vikram playing Tom Hanks´ role. Daniel Balaji will be an automatic choice for Daniel Craig´s role, but it might also be different to give it to a new actor like Nithin Sathya among others. However, I am thinking of something novel, and that is Shyam playing this negative character. He is a decent actor in need of a big break. Daniel Balaji could play the psychotic killer played by Jude Law instead. Music completely is up to the director, and it is of paramount importance that the film gets the casting of the small kid right. Nataraja Subramaniam is just so good when it comes to handling the camera for dark natured narratives, thus his camerawork would compliment the film brilliantly.
Stranger Than Fiction: Venkat Prabhu-Madhavan- Priyamani?
If remade will create a new trend of fresh comedy dramas (which the industry is so lacking). The premise is funny enough, the lead man is a mechanical office worker who suddenly hears someone narrating his life details, and telling us that he will die soon. Desperate not to die, the man tries to find the cause of the voiceovers, and discovers that he is a character from the book of female novelist, who always kills her lead character at the end of her book, and is currently struggling to find a way to kill his character. This discovery changes both the novelist´s and the man´s life drastically, and the film has a positive ending which also has a strong theme on how we cherish our life and how many of us are being too pessimistic about life. Venkat Prabhu is definitely the man to make this movie, with Madhavan being in the lead role, but having someone like Ajith doing the role will be different yet realistic. Priyamani has the perfect looks to play Maggie Gyllenhall´s cute, frank, yet unspectacular character of a bakery woman. Shobana or Nadiya would fit into the role of the mid-age novelist.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: A.L Vijay, Vijay-Trisha?
A quirky crime thriller with one of the most novel methods of voiceovers in recent times, this will be a unique yet commercially entertaining film to watch in Kollywood. It is about a young thief who ends up being taken in as a stand-by actor and later gets dragged in by chance into solving a high-profile murder case in tinsel town along with a detective and a beautiful actress who was his childhood love. The film´s voiceover comes in a disorganized manner- with the lead character constantly criticizing his own self as to how bad a narrator he is. Vijay fits perfectly in the lead role played by a quirky `Ironman´ Robert Downey, with Trisha definitely taking the female lead as it has both glamour and performative requirements. Arjun would be a good cast in Van Kilmer´s role of a smart detective. A.L Vijay could direct this film (I watched Poi Solla Porom and I believe he has the right talent within him, especially with black comedy).
The Truman Show: Gautham- Surya-Mohan Lal-Jyothika?
Andrew Niccol has written such a great screenplay for this film so it won´t do much justice to `remake´ this film but to slightly alter the proceedings and retain the main idea and theme of the movie would be great. The film tells the story of a man who realizes his entire life has been a TV show, and the ending has to be one of the best endings ever in cinema history- the hero just opening the studio door and walking outside despite Ed Harris´ constant warnings that the world outside is far more ruthless than the safe world that he has created for Truman. While my previous three suggestions are within a frame of being realistically achievable in Tamil cinema, Truman Show is one of my more ambitious hopefuls. Surya should play Jim Carrey´s role, with Mohan Lal playing Ed Harris´ role. Gautham would do well to direct this film with A.R. Rahman´s music. It would definitely be nice if Jyothika makes a comeback and plays Truman´s long-lost love interest, the very reason why Truman discovers the truth behind his life.
Omkara: Bala- Siddharth –Asin?
We have a great tragedy director in the form of Bala. Let´s given him an all-time tragedy classic, Othello- and the results will be at least phenomenal. This does not necessarily have to be a remake of `Omkara´, it could be another adaptation of Shakespeare´s Othello. The setting definitely should be in a village , playing to Bala´s common territories, with Vikram playing Lago hands down. This would be one heck of a casting coup. Surya should play Othello, while Siddharth (yes, from Boys) playing Cassio. Desdemona belongs to Trisha or Asin while Sneha should play Vikram´s wife.
