Rahman's son to sing in Tamil

A week after reports claimed that music composer AR Rahman's son Alim would sing in a Hollywood film, the Oscar-award winner today said his son would render voice for Tamil movies too.
Speaking at a function to release the album 'Sing along with rhythms', brought out by the students of KM Music Conservatory run by him, Rahman said, 'Alim is just six. He is learning music now and he will certainly sing in Tamil films soon.'
On the album he said, 'I am happy that my students have come out with an album. My prayers to Almighty for these students to go and rock in the world of music.'

Who is Raavana’s Mandodhari?

Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavana’ steals a lot of attention, both for good and the dark reasons. He is busy churning out ‘Raavana’, the bilingual project, in spite of lay-backs.
The director had at times remade epics into modern day stories ever since ‘Thalapathi’ (story of Karna from Mahabharata). And inspired by ‘Ramayana’, he is working on ‘Raavana’ with lots of diligence to bring it out as a masterwork.
As per his plan, for the Hindi version the characters based on Rama and Seetha is played by Abhishek and Aish while Vikram would play the shades of Ravana. On the other hand the Tamil version will have Vikram replacing Abhishek’s role and would pair up with Aish. Prithiviraj would play the baddie in this version. We are also aware that Priyamani is roped in for the role of ‘Surpanagai’ for both the versions.
But, for quite some time there is a delay in fixing up an actress for the role of Mandodhari (Ravana’s wife). As most of us know, the gorgeous Nayantara has refused this juicy offer from the maverick movie maker. It was said that she turned down the role of Mandodhari as there was no glamour quotient. Guess what? A small birdie says that Mani Sir is now eying Reema Sen, for the same role. The ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ girl is still busy with the project’s patch work. But Suhasni Mani Ratnam had directly approached Selvaragavan and had asked for his permission to hire the lady for her husband’s project just for ten days.

Years back in time, the film ‘Jaganmohini’ made a great show amongst all the audiences of both Tollywood and Kollywood. It’s really pitiable to state that such a great event wasn’t publicized properly and that doesn’t sound good for the producer who has shelled out so much money for a fantabulous show.

Pa. Vijay promises to be an action hero

With many filmmakers turning into actors and choreographers as directors, there’s no wonder about a lyricist enacting the lead role in a film.
Pa. Vijay with much of his earnest efforts made his debut with ‘Thai Kavyam’, but the project was shelved on the half way. But, he somehow came up with a good story in ‘Gnyabagangal’ based on a real life incident.
Although, the film didn’t fetch more appreciations, he had received warm welcome for his decent performance. Now, he had to go through 15 scripts and finally confirm with couple of films. One of the film’s shooting has already started and Pa. Vijay doesn’t want to reveal about the filmmaker’s name as well the movie’s title. But he assures that it will be a commercial entertainer and he has tried some risky stunts.

The shooting of the KS Ravikumar’s ‘Aadhavan’ had its shoot done in places like Chennai, Calcutta, Darjeeling, South Africa and Ire Land. Though the film’s crew have had mixed experience shooting in all these locales, they seem to remember the Calcutta schedule very much. A chasing scene in which Suriya is supposed to be chased by Calcutta police was canned, sadly this grabbed the entire attention of the localities which caused a great hullabaloo. As a result, the crew brought in a special force consisting of 50 police men to carry on the shoot without much delay.
On top of this Suriya has done a dare devil stunt that will make us jump out of our seats. He has acted in a stunt that needed him to jump out of the famous Vidhyasagar Bridge in to the River Ganga with out using a look alike. As if this is not enough, for a particular scene in which Suriya kills a Judge who is stuck up in traffic jam from an old building, the crew stopped the traffic in a very busy road called Lenin Sarani for 4 hours.
We just wonder how this was possible! And one can’t stop thinking who the person behind such a tough assignment is. Well, well keep guessing until come back with the answer.

Vijay apologises to advocates

The ‘Sivakasi’ row that started years ago seems to have reached its end. For, Vijay, the hero of the movie, along with producer A M Rathnam, director Perarasu and comedian M S Baskar, expressed regret in the Madras High Court on Wednesday for ‘hurting the feelings of advocates’ in the film.
He also requested the Court to quash all the 13 defamation cases he is facing over the issue. Following this, Tamil Nadu Advocates Association President S Prabakran accepted the regret and wanted the Court to pass a detail order so as to ensure that no similar incidents occurred in the future.
Advocates in various parts of the State had initiated separate defamation cases against Vijay, Rathnam, Baskar and Perarasu, claiming that the legal fraternity had been depicted in poor light in the film. A Ranipet Court also issued summons and warrants.

‘Naadodigal’ by RGV in Hindi?

Director Ram Gopal Varma is known create amazing films of different genre. He is ready with his latest Hindi release ‘Aagyat’ and is also busy with his film based on the biography of Paritala Ravi named 'Raktha Charithra'. He has also planned to rope in Suriya to act in 'Raktha Charithra' as Suri’.
Looks like RGV is turning his eyes towards the southern circuit this time for some fresh scripts. It is heard that the director was exited about the script of the latest sensation ‘Naadodigal’ and sent a messenger to grab the Hindi rights of the film. As we all know Director Samuthirakani has plans of doing the film in Hindi also after finishing the Telugu Kannada remakes of the movie. So, the director has passed the message that he will think about giving the right to RGV.
Let’s keep these Hindi rights topic aside. ‘Naadodigal’ film is been remade in Bengali recently says a source form who does the art direction for Bengali films. Shall we say that the Bengali circuit does not seem to bother about any of these remake rights issues?

Support for Bharat Ratna

A community registered under the name “Dilip Kumar for Bharat Ratna” in Facebook is lobbying to garner support for the 86-year-old actor to be awarded the highest civilian award of the nation – The Bharat Ratna. Popular director Mahesh Bhatt started this initiative and over 850 people have already registered in favor of Dilip Kumar.
Bhatt told the IANS that, “It is the entire industry’s effort. From every region, stalwarts have come out to appeal for him. I was just a foot soldier. It is the Indian film industry’s effort, not an individual’s effort.”
The members of the group are encouraged to leave a comment in favor of the star or reply “I endorse that Dilip Kumar is the most deserving person to be honored with the Bharat Ratna.”

Srikanth Deva has composed the music for the film directed by Vetri Vendhan. The shooting of the film has been completed. Srikanth Deva has completed the re-recording within 25 days. Normally music composers do the re-recording work in the studios. But Srikanth Deva for the first time has done the re-recording work in the outdoor at Yercaud.
