Ajith in London!

The second schedule of Ajith starrer ‘Asal’ is to take place very soon in London. As planned earlier, 30% of the shoot will happen in London, 50% will be shot in Malaysia and 20%will be in Chennai. Starting with the first schedule, the share that was calculated to be shot in Malaysia was wrapped-up recently.
Sources close to the project say that Ajith will be a decently dressed villain in London. “Ajith will be enacting in a scene in which he gives out an interview to America’s Wall Street journal in British English accent,” added the source.
The point is that our “Thala” Ajith is taking full-fledged practice to deliver the talk with the proper British accent!

Karthi-Kajal in Rajini’s movie

Well, don’t go by the title! But the pair is going to do a movie that has taken title from the Superstar’s one-time hit ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ that will start from the month of September.
Besides ‘Paiya’ and ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, ‘Paruthiveeran’ Karthi has added to his portfolio with this movie. After a famous hit with ‘Magadheera’ but with a miss ‘Modhi Vilaiyadu’, Kajal Agarwal is all-set to take on this venture. The shooting spots include our own Chennaipattinam along with Hyderabad and Vizakapatanam.
‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ famed Suseendran is handling the direction while K E Gnanavel Raja undertakes the productions under Studio Green. Yuvan Shankar Raja will score the music, Madhi would be at the Camera and Rajeevan will do the Art Direction.
The producer stated to sources that the film is fast-paced with lots of action and romance. It’s a solid script written by Suseendran, and Karthi will surely rock in the film.

‘When a stranger calls’ remade in Tamil with Rambha

Actress Rambha had no big time for a long time and nearly followed by a sabbatical gap she makes her comeback.
Well, her recent release ‘Quick Gun Murugan’ fetched her honorable credits for the good performance. Now, it’s time to make a full fledged lead role in Kollywood.
The film ‘Vidiyum Varai Kaathiru’ based on a Hollywood movie ‘When a stranger calls’ featuring Rambha and Prakash Raj in lead roles. The film is about a girl who has to spent entire night alone in her Uncle’s house. Things turn to be nightmarish for the young girl when a stranger calls up and starts harassing with his gruesome words. Immediately, the girl calls up cops and indeed they trace the caller.
But the shocking part is when she is exposed to the truth that the stranger is calling from nowhere but right inside her house.
What unfolds next is series of twists and turns leading to a shocking climax..
Apart from handling story, screenplay and dialogues Viyas himself has directed the film. Tan Joor has tuned melodies to lyrics of Pa. Vijay and Panneer Selvam has handled the camera. The film is produced by Pallavi under the banner of Pariyaj Creations.

Kamal Haasan confirms his project with Mysskin

Finally, Kamal Haasan puts an end to the buzzes of working with Mysskin on his next film.
‘Yes, we are working together, but not now’ said Kamal Haasan during the audio launch of his forthcoming film ‘Unnai Pol Oruvan’. The film as known earlier is a remake of yesteryear blockbuster ‘A Wednesday’.
Adding more onto the announcement, the actor said, “Since, it is a period film, lots of research works are involved in it. I am producing and directing a film that will feature me and director K. Balachandar in lead roles. Soon after this completion, Mysskin’s project will start rolling.”

I have done the role of a college student as well as a role of a wife. When I did the role of a student I come in the get up of a shy Brahmin role. I did the role of the wife with simplicity.
Normally those who do the role of a wife will have full make up. But I have acted without any make up. Normally I like to act without make up. Since I have acted practically in this film, I think I will touch the place which I had targeted in Tamil films. “

Shaji Kailas to remake ‘Red Chillies’ in Tamil

Shaji Kailas, a renowned filmmaker from Malayalam film industry is known for making best thrillers. He had remade his own directorial ‘Chintamani Kola Case’ in Tamil as ‘Ellam Avan Seyal’ starring RK in lead roles.
Now, after his recent release of ‘Azhagar Malai’, RK had requested the filmmaker to churn out yet another movie for him.
Instantaneously, the auteur has agreed to make a film for him that will again be a suspense-thriller. Sources have revealed that it maybe his own Malayalam film ‘Red Chillies’ to be remade in Tamil. The Malayalam version had Mohan Lal and Biju Menon in lead roles.
Although Shaji hasn’t confirmed it officially, he has planned to add more commercial ingredients which for sure will have Vadivelu’s comedy tracks.

‘Jaggubhai’ was supposed to star Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role even before ‘Chandramuki’, but then it didn’t take off. Later director K S Ravikumar made Sarathkumar- the macho man as the lead and dusted out the project. Earlier speculations were making rounds that K S Ravinkumar will be releasing Suriya’s ‘Aadhavan’ before ‘Jaggubhai’. And now, looks like ‘Jaggubhai’ is getting ready for its release before long!

‘I don’t care about success and failure’ - Trisha

Sneha, who is in the centre of controversy for allegedly hurting the sentiments of Hindus by undertaking Girivalam at Thiruvannamalai wearing chappals, has said she used a “specially designed footwear” for the purpose since she could not walk barefoot for a long distance thanks to an accident.
“My leg is not okay after a mishap a few years ago. I can’t walk without a chappal for a long distance. Hence I use footwear made out of cloth while visiting temples. I used one such chappal during Girivalam,” she says.
Stating that she had explained her side to a pro-Hindu outfit, Sneha said they had accepted it. “I am a spiritual person. I would never hurt the sentiments of anyone,” she said.
The actress, accompanied by her father, had recently visited the Arunachaleswar Temple in Thiruvannamalai, one of the six abodes of Lord Siva in the form of fire. She kicked up a row by undertaking Girivalam, a walk around the temple on a full-moon day, wearing chappals.
After a section of the media came out with pictures of Sneha wearing chappals during Girivalam, the Hindu Makkal Katchi has raised a banner of protest, demanding that the actress tender unconditional apology for hurting the sentiments of the Hindus.
In a statement, HMK Organisor Sridharan said the actor had visited the temple as if she was visiting her friends. She had hurt the feelings of lakhs of devotees who undertake 'Girivalam' by her act.
If she failed to tender an apology, the HMK volunteers would stage a protest demonstration in front of her residence, he warned.

Tell us the experiences while working with A R Rahman?
I was a key board player to most of the music composers. I had worked for a lot of films with Telugu music composer Raj Kotti. During the day time I used to work with Raj Kotti and in the night from 9 PM to early morning hours I used to work with Rahman. This was a good experience. I have not worked with Ilayaraja. I have met and spoke to him once. I have worked with his son Karthik Raja.
What are your favourite songs of other music composers?
There are a lot of songs. But my all time favourite is Ilayaraja’s Madai Thirandhu and Rahman’s Netru Illadha Matram.
Is there any chance for you to work with Gowtham Menon?
You get angry with a person whom you love very much. Only on that basis is this gap. Only time and God should answer of me working with Gowtham Menon.
What have you to say about your continuous successes?
If you think of successes you cannot work and if you think of failures then you will become frustrated. So I don’t think of both and begin everyday as a new person.

Eeram is a romantic thriller

Eeram is a film produced by Director Shankar under his banner S Pictures. Arivazhagan is directing this film. Nandha, Aadhi, Sindhu Menon and Saranya Mohan are starring in this film. Director Arivazhagan while speaking about this film said,” This film is a romantic thriller. The whole cinema appreciated me after seeing the trailer. Aadhi is donning the role of Assistant Commissioner while Nanda dons the role of an automobile engineer. Saranya Mohan and Sindhu are also in the cast.
The film is about the incidents which take place between them. We made each frame with utmost care. It is true that the film got delayed. The reason for this is that the actors who had acted in this film were also concentrating on other films. Graphics were used in this film but one cannot make out where we have used graphics. We erected sets of two apartments. One cannot say that it is a set. It looked so original. The technology used in this film is new to Tamil Cinema.”

Trailer of ‘Raavana’ soon to be released

Filmmaker Manirathnam is all set to complete his forthcoming attraction ‘Raavana’ soon. Meanwhile, the ace auteur has started working on first look trailer. It has been stated that both the trailers have been designed in such a way that it will have ‘Vikram’ alone.
The reason as revealed by Manirathnam’s close associate is that the filmmaker is concerned about introducing Vikram – a newcomer in Bollywood so magniloquently so that audiences over there may have a brief idea about Vikram.

Kamal Haasan’s interacts with Internet media

On the eve of the audio release of Unnai Pol Oruvan Kamal Haasan interacted with the media.
What changes have you made for this film?
In America there is only one culture. If you go to any State in America you can see the same culture. But in India it varies from one State to another State. But terrorism is there in every side. We have conveniently forgotten this. I have changed the dialogues in this film.
But there were vulgar dialogues in the original film?
I don’t understand this. Tell me what is vulgar. A writer has freedom but whereas a film person does not have freedom. Cinema is a species which is catching our foot hold. What freedom does it have? Our Censor Act came into force in 1957. I was three years old then. Now so many changes have come in the cinema. Film technology is also advancing. But what changes has been made in the Censor rules. There are so many matters in our Tamil literatures like Virali Vidum Thothu and Thanjai Vaanan Kovai. I have no freedom to speak about all these in cinema. We have to change the Censor rules and regulations.
In Tamil films there will be romance and action. But this film does not have these elements?
I have tried to do something different in this film. I was the one who made a film without dialogues. I have tried one step ahead in this film. Even if you take my film Nayagan, the romantic portion was very less. When you try something different you have to change certain things. There are stunt scenes in this film. But it will be pragmatic.
You have used Red One camera in this film?
Yes. The future is digital. Whenever a new thing happens I want to take it to the people. I want to simplify cinema. You should not sideline or get scared of new technology. It is good that everyone should walk towards it.
What about your daughter Shruthi?
She has composed the music for this film. I did not give her 90% of the freedom which was given to me when I was young. Now I am proud about the way she has come up. When I told her that she has to compose music for this film, she came up with 2 songs that evening itself. I asked her when we can start the recording, she said right now. I asked her who is going to sing, she said that she had already decided that it was me. She has done a wonderful job for this film.
What about you being in cinema for 50 years?
Even if I did very few films in 50 years or didn’t do any films at all, it would have been 50 years since I came into films. So the credit of my 50 years in cinema should go to my producers, director and above all people who accepted me as an actor.
Are you going to do a historical film with Mysskin?
Don’t say historical film. Some historians may come up and ask this has happened only on Friday and why it has been mentioned as Saturday. I am acting in a story which happened in history. Mysskin has requested some time to prepare the script.

Vivega does not want to act

Vivega while speaking to the media said,” I got the opportunity to write the lyrics for all the songs in the film Kandasamy. This is a turning point in my career. All the songs in Kandasamy have become great hits. This has brought me a great recognition.
Currently I am penning lyrics for 70 films. Out of this I am penning lyrics for all the songs in 15 films. I don’t prefer any special place or time to write the lyrics. I can write at any place. I got lot of offers to act in films. But I refused. My only is to get recognized at State and National level.”

Beautiful songs of 'Theni-Madurai'

In 'Theni-Madurai,' they don't show a sickle even in cutting the coconut for tender coconut water. It is via Andipatti. In some films, the title itself will spell its fate. One can believe that 'Theni-Madurai' is headed for success.
This belief is strengthened after hearing the songs. At the audio release in Chennai, the talent of music director JV, dance master, cinematographer Guhan was all too evident and it was a feast for the eyes. The young blind singer Shamsuddin sings a wonderful song at the Madurai singing contest. Fefsi President Guhanathan said, "It is now such that Madurai spells success. Now Andipatti has also been included in this. That's where MGR won." One could smell the nostalgic memories in the auditorium. Directors Vasanth, Cheran, Pandiraj and actors like Ganja Karuppu, participated in the function. Stories that take place in Madurai or Nellai have a good dose of violence and weapons., peppered with blood flows. Director Ratibala says there is not an iota of violence in this film. Another interesting tidbit is lack of glamour! Sun Music presenter Aravind Vinod makes his debut as hero. Srithika makes her debut as heroine.

Simbu's dance in 'Asal'

It has not been confirmed but this news seems to be doing the rounds.
It's said Simbu is doing a guest role in Ajith's 'Asal.' This has been refuted by 'Asal' unit but there's a small element of truth in it. It seems Simbu is doing only one dance number and he is himself going to sing that song. Simbu is a big fan of Ajith. In every film of his, he utters some praise or other of Ajith. It seems Simbu has wanted for long to act in at least one scene of an Ajith film. He even told this to Ajith himself, and this song sequence in 'Asal' is the result. After completing the shooting in Malaysia, they will put up grand sets in Chennai to shoot Simbu's dance. Surely Simbu will soon get flooded with offers to do a dance item in many films!

Sneha is not a baddie

Venkat Prabhu, who has just returned from Malaysia, said that 80 per cent of Goa is complete. The remaining portions will be shot in Goa soon. The director is happy over the way the film has shaped up. He said that a song that will be rendered by all the five cousins together will feature in Goa. The five of them are Venkat Prabhu, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Karthik Raja, Parthi Bhaskar, and Premji Amaren. Apart from this, Venkat also has plans to rope in his uncle Illayaraja for a song.
When asked about Sneha’s role in the film, Venkat merely said that she does not play the villain role as described by the media.

Cheran changed his mind!

Though Cheran is not so happy about the response of his ‘Pokkisham’, he doesn’t wants to nag over it and kill time in vanity. He wants to know what the reason of this meager response was and what was deficient in the movie. The actor-turned-director made a trip to Trichy Bishop Keeper College and had chitchat with the youngsters there to figure out the drawback. After the discussion the actor had changed his mind! What is that change? Lets’ hear it straight from Cheran…
“The majority of the crowd that comes to the theater is youngsters who are below 25. We are in apposition to do film that will attract this majority class. So, films with commercial values can only stand the competition”, he said drably
“Through ‘Pokkisham’ I wanted to show the soft and loyal love story of olden days. But these days, youths never like stories like this. They proved that their love stories are different from my love stories. I have understood that I should give films to satisfy this kind of crowd or else stay out of the way” he adds
“I wanted to show honesty in my story, however big actors did not like it, and so I acted in ‘Pokkisham’. I have not earned riches but I have earned the recognition from the audience who support me. I’ve lost my wealth by doing these realistic stories. I have a family of my own so, I need to look after them as well. My films in the future will have commercial ingredients that do not kill the logic,” concludes Cheran with a face that engulfed his vexation.

Actor Prithiviraj fell in love at first sight when he saw actress Priyamani on the first day of the college but never reveals his love to her. Karthick who is a wealthy brat attracted in a girl but his love was not mutual and forces the girl to love him at that time actor Prithiviraj interfere in favour of the girl which sets the animosity between them. In the mean time Prithiviraj popularity graph in the college climbs up because of the pro activistist in the college which vexed Karthick and looking for an occasion to bring down Prithiviraj at any chance. The remaining tale turn-arounds at the end love revealed with lots of disclosed twists.
For actor Prithiviraj Ninaithale Inikkum will be a milestone in his Tamil film career as he proves him as an experienced hand. Sakthi Vasu had done his part well while K Bhagyaraj as Sakthi’s dad is a perfect role. Actress Priyamani melts us in some scenes and on the whole it looks ordinary. With minimum scenes Karthik dazzles in the screen. Balasubramanian does praise worthy camera work. The movie is targeting the youths as all the scenes are made inside the campus.
For Sun Pictures it’s the movie they are looking for and if you saw their banner of movies they are known as a crap masala movie maker’s but with this film their outlook changed sensibly. As Sun Pictures promo is made in the television for every hour the movie will create big impact on the screen.

Sameera Reddy on Ajith’s free time

Sameera Reddy is back from Malaysia after completing her schedule for Asal. Now the team is planning to move to Europe for the next schedule.
In an interview, the Varanam Aayiram girl said that she loves sea sports and had spent her free time in Malaysia scuba diving. When asked if Ajith would accompany her, the actress said that Ajith is always busy watching home videos of his daughter during his spare time.
Ajith also took a break to be with his daughter in Chennai twice during their stay in Malaysia, it is reported.
Speaking further on this, the pretty actress said that, she also had a chance to view some of his daughter’s videos and was surprised to see that his daughter sang so well. Sameera was all praise for Ajith’s little one and added that she has never heard a child sing so well before.
