Visa denied for Vijay and Anushka

Vettaikaran is the film which has Vijay and Anushka in the lead. Anushka became very popular among Tamil audience after the release of the dubbed version of Telugu film Arundhathi.
After this she was signed for Vettaikaran. Babu Sivan is directing this film. He had worked as an assistant to Dharani in the films Ghilli, Dhil and Dhool. Vettaikaran was planned to be released for Deepavali.
The shooting of the film was progressing in rapid pace. But due to some unavoidable circumstances the film could not be completed as per schedule. Because of this the film cannot be released as decided.
A song sequence featuring Vijay and Anushka was supposed to be shot in Australia. But unfortunately the visa was denied to the crew. Now the shooting venue has been changed to Pune.Now the song sequence is being shot in Pune. Vijay Anthony is composing the music for this film while Gopinath is handling the camera. Vijay is donning the role of an auto driver who works for the welfare of poor innocent people

Singam Ready For Second Schedule

Director Hari needs no introduction when it comes to punctualities. Much adhered to predesigned ground works, the filmmaker just completes the project much or before the assigned deadline. It has been more evident in the past and again with his present project ‘Singam’ starring Suriya-Anushka in lead roles.The film started rolling with first schedule hitting the floors of Tuticorin and surrounding locales. The entire crew has left the down south with the completion and will kick-start with following schedule herein Chennai.According to the sources, the second schedule will start rolling after the three day FEFSI meet that will bring almost every film personalities of Tamil film industry together.‘Singam’ is produced by Studio Green in collaboration with Big Pictures. Suriya does the cop role with hottie Anushka starring opposite him in the female lead and Prakash Raj enacting a prominent character. Devi Sri Prasad has scored music for the film.

Actor Abbas wife opens an exclusive bridal wear showroom

Actor Abbas’s wife Erum Ali is a fashion designer. She is also running a fashion apparel shop in Chennai. Now she has opened an exclusive bridal wear showroom.
Bridal make up is also done here. Many of the actors and actresses participated in the inaugural function. Surya’s wife Jyothika and Ajith’s wife Shalini participated in this inaugural function and went around the showroom.
Gowthami daughter Subbulakshmi had also made her presence. Erum Ali’s close friends Sangeetha and Sonia Agarwal were also there. Actor Vishal, Srikanth, Selvaraghavan and Dhanush wife Aishwarya also participated in this event.

Asin to visit Chennai for FEFSI meet

Since the day she entered Bollywood through Hindi ‘Ghajini’ with Aamir Khan, Asin seldom comes down to Chennai. She is now established in Bollywood as Mumbai’s sensation and has recently signed-up a project with Jr. Bachchan.
Asin, who has settled in her apartment in Mumbai comfortably, will be coming to Chennai soon! Hang on! It’s not for any new Tamil project but for the All India FEFSI Conference.
And while Asin is in Chennai, she will visit her close friend actor Vijay’s house in Madipakkam. Likewise, the actress is also close with Vijay’s wife Sangeetha and his son Sanjay.

Actor Suman after much decision making has joined the Congress party. The hero turned villain did meet Verappa Moily some months ago in this regard but joined the Congress only now. The actor was actively involved in Telugu Desam Party over these years and has now decided to join Congress.

Vijayalakshmi denies rumors on her marriage

‘Wedding Bells for Vijayalakshmi’ – Perhaps, the headlines has been flashed across almost all the media networks. It wasn’t an act of surprise merely for us, but for the actress herself.
When approached actress Vijayalakshmi inquiring about the marriage proposal, she said, “ I am really shocked on heeding to such stories on me. I am just 2-year old baby in film industry and there are lots of things to achieve in tinsel town. For next few years, I have no idea about jumping into family life with husband and kids. As off now, I have done 2 films ‘Kattradhu Kalavu’ and ‘Adhey Neram Adhey Nimidam’ and will sign other projects and the release of these films.”

Goripalayam is about four youths

Raasu Madhuravan is directing a film titled Goripalayam after Maayandi Kudumbhathar. While speaking about this film, he said,” This film is based on a real incident which happened in Madurai.
Mani who was my assistant died due drugs. Another young man also went astray and lost is life.
Based on this I am making a film about four youths who had gone astray. Pandiya Naadu Theatres is producing this film.Harish, Ramakrishnan, Prakash, Raghuvannan, Jagan, Singam Puli, Ravi Maria, Nanda Periasamy, Mayilsamy and Ilavarasu are starring in this film.New face Poongodi is the heroine of this film. Sabesh-Murali are composing the music. Bala Bharani is handling the camera. The shooting of the film is to commence in Madurai next month and will be completed during January. I have planned to release the film during the month of April.”

Kavya Madhavan refuses seven films

Kavya Madhavan says that she has refused seven films because she did not like the roles. She further adds that she is waiting for good roles in the re entry.
While speaking about this, she said,” There was strong news that I am donning a role of a witch lady in a Malayalam film. I am not doing the role of a witch lady. The hero is the black magician while I am donning the role of a police officer who apprehends him.
Apart from this film I got 7 offers after my marriage. I kept away from films because of my wrecked marriage. I was in a state of confusion whether to act or not. Now that I am separated and single I have decided to act.Since this is my re-entry I am waiting for a good role. I also got an offer to act in a film which had four heroines. But I refused to do this role. There is no disparity for me between Tamil or Malayalam films. I will act in any language provided I get a good role.’

Sandhya says she will be reaching the top soon

Sandhya while interacting with the media recently said,” Currently I have been signed for a Telugu film titled Haasini.
This film is about a middle income group which has ten girls. The Kannada film Aptha Rakshaka has been completed. In Tamil I am acting in Irumbu Kottai Murratu Singam, Odi Pogalama and Nootrukku Nooru.I am donning different kind of roles in each of these films. I have been in cinema for the last five years. Many are asking me why I have not reached the top place. I think the time is yet to come. But at the same time reaching the top is not very far away.”

Seemingly inspired by the epic Mahabharatha, M/s. Media One Global Entertainment (the makers of Dhaam Dhoom and Chiku Bukku) is coming out with a Mega serial on Kalaigar tv titled Dhayam. This Mega serial would be telecasted from Monday to Thursday from 9.30 pm from 12th October.Starring a big filmi cast of Vadivukkarasi,Rajesh,Sudha chandran,Kaveri,Poorani,Ajay rathinam,Sakshi shiva,OAK Sundar,Ashok,B.R Illavarasu,Anbu and others, over a 1000 episodes are on the cards.Dhayam is Directed by J.Panner, who wielded the megaphone for Vijayakanth starrer Sakkaraidevan. Annakili R.Selvaraj has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. Rajesh vaithya has scored music and lyrics are penned by Vairamuthu.Dhayam is inspired by the battle between the Pandavas and Kauravas. “We have made changes in the story to suit the new generation of viewers,” says R.Selvaraj. “It would be a soap show that can be watched with the entire family. Harikumar’s review ‘Madurai Sambhavam’

A month back in time, ‘Madurai Sambhavam’ starring choreographer-turned-actor Harikumar in lead role… With Rama Narayanan of Sri Thenandal Pictures acquiring the film rights, the film’s business was pretty well favorable for the producer.
But, the film reviews haven’t been much favorable for the film since the film critics had mentioned that ‘Harikumar’ had uttered many punch dialogues and involved in unwanted intimate sequences.
Speaking about this Harikumar says, ‘Nothing was purposely invited to the film. Usually the Maduraibased men would utter such dialogues with heroisms. Since, I had stated those dialogues facing the lens, they’ve labeled it as punch dialogues. The other thing was about the intimate sequences between me and Anuya. The story demanded for such a situation and there was nothing intentional about drawing audiences with such quotients…’

Mani Rathnam drops Bipasha Basu from ‘Raavana’

Bollywood’s hottie Bipasha Basu hadn’t done a single great film in her film all throughout the career. She has been just appearing in small costumes for the glamorous quotients… But then, she was really excited about the offer remembered by Manirathnam.
She had undergone the special training for dancing. Bips was offered to play the role of Mandodari, Raavana’s wife. But eventually, Manirathnam has deleted her entire portion from the film and theactress has no ends for her worries.

Sun Pictures may acquire Paiyya

Call it Sun Pictures’ ever best deal, if it happens now. Sun Pictures has been involved in such sortof flicks that never carried substantial themes. But, ‘Paiyya’ is getting through wonderful take nearing the completion.
According to the sources, Lingusamy has admitted that the film’s shooting has been almost done, say, 80% of it. Merely now, few talkie portions and songs are pending with audio slated to hit the stores shortly in November.
If what we hear from the closer sources are believed to be true, then Sun Pictures is looking out for acquiring rights over the film.
‘Paiyya’ features Karthi, Thamannah and Milan Soman in lead roles. The film is inspired from HBO’s famous series ‘The Hitchhiker’.

Three Movies for Diwali 2009 Confirmed?

Earlier in a meeting Tamil Film Producers Council had taken decision to release top stars movies only in festival season reflects to halt many movies. Especially most awaited movie Ilayathalapathy Vijay “Vettaikaaran” was supposed to hit theatres on Diwali but owing to the decision of the Producers Coucil the movie postponed its release. More than these only three movies are going to hit theatres on this Deepavali season. The movies are Red Giant Movies Surya’s Aadhavan,Ayngaran International Jayam Ravi’s Peraanmai and at last Namitha’s Jaganmohini. There were plenty of movies queued for Diwali release but due to the new decision taken by Producers Council for earning more profits by releasing lesser number of movies in theatres. Only if producers produce quality movies it will earn profits these ideas look contemptible and hope soon the Tamil Film Producers Council will change its policy in releasing movies???
