Production
The Clash of the Titans remake began development in 2002 under producer Adam Schroeder and writers John Glenn and Travis Wright. They wanted to drop the element of the gods playing chess. Producer Basil Iwanyk revived the project in 2006 with a rewrite by Travis Beacham, a fan of the original. Lawrence Kasdan and director Stephen Norrington signed on in 2007. But Norrington was unsure about his direction for the project, because he did not grow up with the original. Leterrier, who did, contacted Norrington through their shared agent about replacing him by June 2008. Leterrier noted the original Clash of the Titans inspired the climax of his previous film The Incredible Hulk – a battle in a burnt-down courtroom with temple-like columns – and has compared modern superheroes to Greek mythology.[18][19] Writers Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi reworked Kasdan’s script, which had been written with an R rating in mind.
Leterrier sought Ray Harryhausen’s involvement, and reunited with Hulk concept artist Aaron Sims, who had already been working on Clash of the Titans with Norrington. Sims had difficulty designing Medusa, explaining “Are they all the same snake [in her hair]? Do they look more like hair? Are they different in silhouette or in light? And how much of a human face does she have, or is it more like a snake?…I was working on one design, and people said ‘That reminds me of Voldemort,’ because there was no nose. You have to be careful so it still looks like it’s an original idea.” Filming began April 27, 2009, in London at Shepperton Studios. Filming also took place in Wales and the Canary Islands, primarily in Tenerife, while aerial photography was to be conducted in Iceland and Ethiopia.
Filming of volcano scenes at the Harriet hole in Dinorwic Slate Quarry in Wales wrapped at the end of July. This slate quarry has also been used for locations for Willow and Street Fighter.3-D conversion and release
Clash of the Titans was originally set for standard release on March 26, 2010. The Heat Vision Blog reported on January 27, 2010 that after a 3-D conversion test of the film which Warner Bros. found to be a “roaring success,” the film would be converted to 3-D and would premiere on April 2, 2010.

Aval Peyar Thamizharasi – Tamil Movie Review

Star-casts: Jai, Nandagi, Theodre Bhaskaran, Ganja Karuppu and many othersBanner: Moser Baer, Blue Ocean EntertainmentProduction: Dhananjayan, LalithaDirection: Meera KadhiravanMusic: Vijay Anthony
Right from their maiden production, Moser Baer has been churning out certain flicks that don’t carry any such attribute of self-aggrandizing as a commercially successful flick. They neither make it big in box office nor receive good reviews amongst the audiences.
We would like to post a question on producers – What actually a good quality films means? Is it about presenting an art film with dark themes with all the characterization lamenting throughout the shows.
Sorry to say! If these are his intentions, the film should be directly released in home videos or merely for the sake of award functions.
‘Aval Peyar Thamizharasi’ disappoints us completely as none of its aspects impresses us. On the first day of show, there were hardly 23 audiences and that too was for the sake of banner – Moser Baer. Precisely, if the film was well, the 23 could’ve been manipulated into 2300 in the next following shows. But unfortunately, the film cannot hold its shows more than couple of days.
The film is about Jyothi (Jai) raping his childhood pal Thamizharasi (Nandagi) so that she wouldn’t leave him for her engineering graduation in Pune. But his cruel intentions, turns the life of Thamizharasi upside down with her mother committing suicide and her educational dreams shattered down. Years later, Jyothi regretting his sins goes in search of his girl.
Jai looks doubtful right throughout the film and his characterization is so bleak. When almost all the natives of village enunciate Tamil with their unique style, Jai speaks out in Chennai slang. Nandagi is the only convincing part and yet she hasn’t been utilized properly.
We have listed some of the illogical aspects –
The film starts with Parthiban narrating the story. All of sudden shift to Jai’s voiceover. The narration from narrator’s perspective shifting to the protagonist is a real crap.
How come the artists are dancing for Tamil song in deep villages of Maharashtra?
Jai’s friends instigate him to rape Nandagi. But on the very next scene, Jai remains silent when his friends accuse him of committing such an act.
Why that is always girls are narrated with such weakness dominated by Men? She is molested by Jai and yet she convinces her friend with good reason behind the reason.
Why that is almost the actresses in offbeat films become sex-workers?
A humble request to filmmakers! Please try something unique as our very own yesteryear directors like Bharathiraja, Mahendran and Balu Mahendra have presented us with evergreen stories set in rural backdrops.
Vijay Anthony’s background is trivialized and none of the songs are appreciable while P.G. Muthaiah’s camera isn’t as appealing as his previous films.
Finally, Moser Baer must correct its way of choosing scripts. Except ‘Kanden Kadhalai’, which was a hit mainly because of the label ‘Jab We Met remake’, none of the other releases have been a commendable one.
Bottom – Line: Its neither Serious Cinema or a Art Flick
Verdict: Big Bore !

Kamal’s next is not ‘Yavarum Kelir’

It was reported the Kamal’s next film will be for Udhayanidhi Stalin and the project will be a massive one. For that Madhavan was also signed and later Trisha to play the female lead opposite Madhavan.
As things were going all fine, after repeated discussions and fine tuning the original script got changed from what it looked at the beginning. Of course it has come out better. So Kamal and his team preferred a change to the earlier title ‘Yavarum Kelir’ for the new script. Again discussions went on and finally they decided on a new title. Accordingly Kamal’s next film will be called ‘Karunyam’. The star cast remains the same.
Kamal and Madhavan were last seen together in the thought provoking ‘Anbe Sivam’. Hope even this new film will be as touching as that.
