
Anil Kapoor’s daughter to debut in Tamil films?

Sonam Kapoor, daughter of veteranBollywood actor Anil Kapoor, might soon be making her Kollywood debut, one learns. Anil Kapoor has been one of the longest-surviving heroes in Bollywood. His daughter Sonam debuted in the 2008 hit film ‘Saawariya’ opposite teenage heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor. If reports are to be believed, Sonam may play the lead role in a film titled ‘Karuppampatti’ opposite Ajmal (who debuted in Myshkin’s ‘Anjathay’). Besides Sonam’s presence, the other significant factor in the film would be the dual roles to be portrayed by Ajmal for the first time in his career spanning just over a couple of years. Prabhuraja Chozhan, who had till recently been working under director Shankar, would be debuting as the director with ‘Karuppampatti’. Sonam, who has been approached to play the lead role in the film, is yet to get back to the producer with her reply. Efforts are, however, afoot from the production side to get Sonam go act in the film. The shooting of the film would kickstart from the first schedule which has been planned to be held in Bangalore from May which would be followed by shooting in various cities in Tamil Nadu. Music director, who impressed many with his musical scores in ‘Tamizhpadam’, would be scoring music for ‘Karuppampatti’.
Suriya in Parthiban direction

Parthiban is known for his creative ways of expressing his feelings to his friends on special days. His bouquets are always a talking point at the household of Suriya whenever he celebrates his birth day. Even Parthiban’s Manitha Neya Mantram is said to have influenced Suriya largely in forming his own Agaram Foundation. Now the off screen friendship between Suriya and Parthiban is all set to take roots on big screen.
Buzz is that Suriya is impressed with a story of Parthiban and is likely to do the film under Parthiban direction. It also says Parthiban and Suriya were to do a film after ‘Mounam Pesiyathey’ but that did not happen for some reasons. But the critics say director Vasanth has been trying for very long to get the dates of Suriya but not getting it. If Suriya hasn’t preferred Vasanth yet will he with Parthiban?
Actress Shammu on a cultural tour

Heroine Shammu, who started her film career with ‘Dasavatharam’, has done in Priyadarshan’s ‘Kancheevaram’ and also won best critical acclaims for her performance in the film. This paved the way to have a couple of movies in Tamil such as‘Maathi Yosi’ and ‘Mayilu’.
At present the beauty is on plans to go on a foreign trip for a cultural event. She will begin her journey on April 14th and will return back on May 24th. She will be visiting Virginia, Orlando and Kemba and performing cultural events there.
PVR Cinemas Opens On Apr 9 In Chennai

Finally, it’s a very big boon for the Chennaites as they can experience the essence of real cinema at PVR Cinemas. Hip Hip Hooray! The long awaited launch of PVR Cinemas will take place from day after tomorrow (April 9).PVR Cinemas has been situated at the center of Chennai’s Heart at Sky Walk Mall across the lanes of Poonamallee Highroad, Arumbakkam. According to the sources, the opening up of one of the biggest group of cinemas can benefit the regular moviegoers from central and North Chennai as there aren’t any quality theatres at that area.The first set of releases will be – Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya, Paiyya, Hindi film ‘Prince’ and othe releases are yet to be confirmed.
Aishwarya hurt on ‘Raavan’ set

Mani Ratnam is a task master and even the biggest stars don’t complain him for that. Recently Aishwarya Rai got bruised and cut while doing a mountain climbing sequence for ‘Raavan’ under the instructions of Mani. But the beauty took it in good right spirits.
According to the scene Aishwarya had to climb a steep path up a mountain with Ravana not once but twice because she had to do it for both Tamil and Hindu versions. Ravana character is played by Abhishek and Vikram in Hindi and Tamil respectively.
Aishwarya is a determined lady and so she didn’t mind it. First she will climb up with Abhishek for Hindi and then she will climb down to again climb up with Vikram.
At the end of the day Ash had enough scars and marks to prove her supreme professionalism.
Manisha to marry

Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, who is currently making a comeback in Tamil cinema with Dhanush starrer ‘Mappillai’, seems finally set to enter wedlock in Nepal, her motherland.
If reports are to be believed, the 40-year-old actress, who is the daughter of one of the most powerful political houses in Nepal, will marry Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal on June 19.
“Circles close to Manisha told me about a week ago that she is getting married in Nepal,” Nepali filmmaker Dipendra Khanal, whose upcoming venture ‘Dharma’ will mark the return of the actress to Nepali film industry, was quoted as saying.
The wedding will be a three-day extravaganza that is expected to see Mumbai’s stars descend on Kathmandu. The bridegroom was reportedly educated in the United States and is a well-known businessman.
Manisha, grand-daughter of Nepal’s first elected Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, is presently shooting in Kerala for a Telugu film and will return to Kathmandu on Friday, Dipendra Kanal reportedly added.

It’s a well known fact that Vivek Oberoi himself has dubbed in Tamil and is set to have a big opening in Chennai.Similarly, Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Phoonk-2’ has been dubbed in Tamil as ‘Bommai-2’ slated for release on April 16. The distributors and producers of Hindi Cinema have now started dubbing their films in Tamil as a must part of their post production schedule so as to release them later in time.It’s worth mentioning that most of the films churned out by UTV Motion Pictures are already dubbed in Tamil including Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Fashion’.
Sarath to direct brother’s son?

Sarath Kumar is recovering quicker than expected. The macho man who is in complete rest for the past 15 days will soon resume his work in 'Vidiyal'. Other than 'Vidiyal' in Tamil Sarath Kumar is now very busy in Malayalam also. He has also become a member of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes). Also there is a news doing rounds saying the supreme star has been signed for a Hindi film as well.
But the hottest news is something different. According to some close sources Sarath Kumar will soon turn a director. Sarath is said to direct the film which would introduce his brother Sudarsan's son Dinesh as the hero. “Though it may sound clichéd, the truth is that we are good friends and nothing more than that exists between us. We both have a passion for cinema and would like to scale great heights in our careers. So there is no way to fall in love,” says the actor.

Suriya - Hari’s Police story Singam, as the name suggests, is an out and out action movie. Or so the director claims. In a recent media interaction, Hari mentioned that there are fight sequences in the movie with every available equipment that has wheels (he added that there are also fights with wheel chair too). Suriya plays a cop and sports thick goatee-moustache for Singam.SUN TV recently procured the distribution rights of Singam, which is expected to be a summer release to cash in on the holiday season. Anushka plays Suriya’s female lead.
Tabu in Gowtham Menon’s film

Tabu will be acting in a film directed by Gowtham Menon. Gowtham Menon after the film Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya is directing a film which is yet to be titled. New face Veera and Samira Reddy are in the lead roles.
This film which is a thriller has no songs or back ground music. Tabu is acting in an important role in this film. The shooting of this film is on progress. The scenes pertaining to Tabu is yet to be shot.
Tabu was supposed to act in the film Pacchaikili Muthucharam but due to non availability of her call sheet, she could not act in that film.

Meet Amy Jackson, who is making her Kollywood debut with ‘Madharasapattinam’. A native of Liverpool, England, she is playing the 18-year-old daughter of the Governor of Madras in the period movie starring Arya in the lead role.
“My character name is Amy Wilkinson. While my father and step-mother hate Indians, I fall in love with an Indian youngman (Arya),” the actress throws light on the film and adds: “My role is so meaty and the climax is one of my favourite scenes.”
On working with Arya, she says, “Though he is a leading star here, he’s been really sweet and helpful to me. We are good friends now and I admire him a lot. Equally helpful are other co-stars and technicians.”
Heaping laurels on Vijay, the director of the film, Amy says, “I’ve always wanted to travel to India and act in an Indian film. Vijay made my dream come true, that too by offering such an excellent opportunity. For, ‘Madharasapattinam’ is a marvelous movie.”
Vikram Launches ‘Karan Arjun’ Movie
A yesteryear Hindi movie with the same title ‘Karan Arjun’ turned to be the most highlighting flick in the career of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Now, a debutant filmmaker Saga strikes with a film with the same title in Tamil. The film features newcomers Amod and Sathya in lead roles and even the technicians are making their debut with it.The film was launched yesterday morning at AVM Studios with actor Vikram and director S.A. Chandrasekhar gracing over the occasion.Turning lights on this film, Saga said, “The film is a triangular love story set in completely contrastive backdrops of love, thrill and mystery. A gunslinger arrives in Kodaikanal for a mission and falls in love with a beautiful missy played by Akshara. Sooner as a group of cops arrive to trace the sharpshooter. Finally, when the girl realizes his love, it’s too late…”The complete film is scheduled to be shot at Kodaikanal for a full-fledged stretch of 45 days.
SURYAH BACK WITH THE WINNING COMBINATION

SJ Suryah is back this time with the Telugu movie Puli. The film has Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. Suryah has given several hit films in the past including Vaali, New and Kushi.
