But, filmmaker Naga insists that his upcoming film ‘Anandhapurathu Veedu’ will be an unusual genre. According to the sources, this movie will be a horror-comedy that revolves around the mystery hidden inside a big bungalow closed for past 23 years. When a married couple along with their kid arrives at that place, inscrutable things starts haunting them and how they overcome it unraveling the mystery forms crux of story.It is said to be the ghosts of the protagonist’s parents getting in touch with their grandchild and certain ambiguities involved in it.The film is produced by Shankar under the banner of S Pictures and is directed by Naga, who earlier shot to fame for his transfixing mystery-thriller series in satellite channels. The film’s shooting is almost completed and is ready to hit screens by July.Nanda and Chaaya Singh have performed lead roles.
Dheena Crowned As ‘King Of Music’
Music director Dheena shot to fame with his ‘Thiruda Thirudi’ album and has now bagged a special title of ‘Isai Arasan’, which means Prince of Music. It all happened during the audio launch of ‘Thambi Arjuna’ that was recently held in Chennai.The occasion was hosted at Kamarajar Arangam with the entire team members of ‘Thambi Arjuna’ being a part of it. ‘Mellisai Mannar’ M.S. Trisha adopts 2 orphanage children on her birthday
Actress Trisha is very much interested in social work. She is helping the needy silently through her fans club. On her birthday she visits the Cancer Institute and gifts clothes and play materials to the cancer affected children.
She celebrated her birth day. She along with her mother Uma Krishnan and some friends visited the orphanage home Udavum Karangal. She spent a lot of time with orphan children there. She provided lunch for 400 children staying there. After this she adopted 2 orphan kids. One was a girl child and another one was boy child.
The girl child was slightly mentally retarded. She requested the concerned people to show the child which others did not want to adopt. Trisha’s friend seeing this also adopted one child. The film Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya which Trisha did the female lead role is doing fairly well at the box office and the Telugu film Namo Venkatesa in which she paired with Venkatesan is a super hit.
She is currently acting with Akshay Kumar in the Hindi film Khatta Meeta. She has also been signed to pair with Kamal Haasan in the Tamil film Karaniyum.
Hari Priya says that she is not interested in small roles
Hari Priya was the heroine of the Karan starrer Kanagavel Kaaka. She is also now acting with Arjun in the film Vallakottai. While speaking to the media, she said,” I am having lot of expectations of Kanagavel Kaaka because that is my first debut film.
Though I have acted in lot of Kannada films, I want to act in other South India languages. Currently I am acting in the Telugu film Kulu Manali. In Kannada I am pairing with Shiva Rajkumar.
I have got no offers from Malayalam. In Kannada I am getting mall roles only. In future I will not act in such roles.
I will act in the roles which has scope for acting. I am also acting with Arjun in the Tamil film Vallakottai. Right from young days I am the fan of the action oriented Arjun. I am really happy to act with him.”
When is Simbu’s wedding?
Here comes an end to a much-asked question of Kollywood. That when would Silambarasan enter wedlock. And the answer is straight from the mouth of Vijaya T Rajendar, the father of the young actor.
“When we asked Silambarasan whether he is ready for marriage, he made it clear that he would enter wedlock only after the marriage of his younger sister Ilakkiya. So we have decided to honour the sentiments of a dutiful brother,” he says.
Saying Silambarasan is however looking for an apt girl, Rajendar says, “You can expect a good news soon. As a responsible father, I would offer suggestions but never interfere in the decisions Silambarasan takes in his personal life. He knows what’s right and what’s wrong.”
On his forthcoming ventures, the actor-director says, “I am currently busy making a film titled ‘Oru Thalai Kadhal’. A Mumbai girl will be the heroine. After finishing the project, I am planning to launch my second son Kuralarasan as an actor.’

Couple of years back, Dhanush witnessed a great turn in his career with the rapid success of ‘Polladhavan’. Directed by debutant Vetrimaaran, the film was reported to be partially inspired from ‘Beijing Bicycles’. The film topped the charts and crossed 100 successful days at box office. Now, the film goes to Kannada remake titled as ‘Punda’ starring young superstar Yogish in lead role. Meghna Raj, daughter of star couple Sunder Raj and Pramila Joshai makes her debut in female lead for the role played by Divya Spandana in Tamil version.Producer R.B. Choudary of Super Good Films has produced this film that was completed before a year. The film’s audio was launched in Jan 2010 and the release date is yet to be confirmed. Yogish happens to be one of the main league stars in Sandalwood and is the son of famous producer T.P. Siddaraju.
Shriya wants to shine more
After sizzling in glamourous roles, Shriya Saran now says she would like to establish herself as a talented actress by playing characters that have enough scope to display her acting skills on screen.
“I am careful and choosy now. I am waiting for a meaty role which would give me opportunity to prove myself. Doing glamorous roles alone is of no use,” says the actress, who is currently shooting in Switzerland for a Telugu film.
On her forthcoming movies, she says, “I am currently acting opposite Ravi Teja in ‘Don Seenu’. I am there opposite Arya in Kollywood’s ‘Chikku Bhukku’. I have recently completed Deepa Mehta’s ‘What’s Cooking?’.”
Thanking the support from her family, Shriya says, “But for the encouragement from my family members, I would not have made a mark for myself in movies. I am thankful to God for gifting me such a nice family.”

Its not new that a good looking cricketer befriends a Bollywood heroine. As is most often the case when a cricketer meets a Bollywood beauty and visits her more than once, everyone gets into speculation on what is cooking between the two.

Vijay’s Villain is happy
“I have begun my career with two prestigious projects. The journey has just started and I am aware that I have miles to go,” says Dev Gill, who has entered Tamil cinema with ‘Sura’ after crossing swords with Ramcharan Teja in ‘Magadheera’.
Recalling how he was selected by Tollywood director S S Rajamouli to be part of ‘Magadheera’, Gill says, “The filmmaker was conducting audition for the villain role. When I visited his place, I realised that more than 600 people had turned up. However luck favoured me as Rajamouli thought that I would fit to the role.”
On bagging ‘Sura’ offer, he says, “I must thank Vijay. He was the one who recommended me to director S P Rajakumar when the latter was searching for a villain. I later learnt that Vijay was impressed with my performance in Magadheera.”
Showering praises on Vijay, he says, “I am proud that I am the villain of Vijay’s 50th movie. He was very friendly on sets and I became familiar with Tamil because of him. We are now like brothers.”
Nadhiya moves to television
Nadhiya's re-entry after seven years of quitting movies with M. Kumaran s/o Mahalaksmi made as much news as her first film ‘Poove Poochoodava’ did. She became the most beautiful mother every hero would want to play son to.
After the successful second entry Nadhiya was careful in choosing roles which would talk themselves. She was fairly successful with some good films like ‘Pattalam’. But the recent ones have not been as satisfactory as she wanted.
So sources close to Nadhiya say she has decided to make her presence felt in television. As a trial run she has accepted a 26-episode television serial for Vijay TV and if that serial and her character receive good response then the producer will extend the serial into a mega serial running to many more episodes.

Manirathnam will not launch ‘Raavanan’ audio
Manirathnam has now decided not to launch the audio for Tamil and Telugu version of ‘Raavana’ and ‘Villain’ as he believes that the Hindi songs have already become chartbusters. Now, the albums will reach the stands of audio markets from May 5.

Padmapriya wants comedy
Perhaps tired of doing serious films right from the day her career started in the tinsel town (‘Thavamai Thavamirundhu’, ‘Pattiyal’, ‘Pokkisham’, ‘Pazhassi Raja’), Padmapriya now wants to do an out and out commercial film.
“I am a great fan of humour. And I want to be part of a masala entertainer, which would be a romantic comedy. I would like to break the myth that I am fit for serious roles alone,” says the actress, who recently stepped into Bollywood with ‘Striker’, the Siddharth starrer.
An MBA graduate who was working with a MNC, Padmapriya shifted gears to acting thanks to her passion. “I am happy that I was able to bag different kind of roles so early in my career. Neeli of ‘Pazhassi Raja’ is a perfect example,” she says.
On her forthcoming film ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam’, which would hit the screens this weekend, she says, “I play a village belle, who is the daughter of a Marshall. Acting in a cowboy film, that too in the company of Larencce Raghavendra and Chimbudevan was a nice experience.”

Ajith Kumar has just completed the first round race of the weekend in 13th position after starting from position 20 out of 21 cars on the grid at the FIA 2010 Formula Two Championship happening at Marrakech, the first round outside of Europe.
Says Ajith from trackside at Marrakech, Morocco: "Practice session 1 & 2 went well and so did qualifying session 1 (for race 1). My lap times kept improving over the 2 practice sessions. Did have a few excursions off the track trying to find my limit and better lap times."
"Qualifying session for race 1 was going well for me until I crashed into the wall on exit of corner one (20 mins into the qualifying session). My Wrist Hurts! Luckily by then had managed to log laptimes within 107 per cent off the quickest driver in qualifying, which enabled me qualify for race 1."
"Marrakech circuit as you all know is a street circuit. Extremely challenging with very long high speed straights and fast chicanes with absolutely no room for error. It is not very often that a racing car driver gets to race on a street circuit. With F2 coming to Marrakech I consider myself very privileged to have got this opportunity.'

‘It wasn’t an easy task to set-up a bar full of bottles. Firstly, we had to get on the pursuit of picking of so many bottles for an entire week. We had later tied every bottleneck with a rope and later pasted them on the walls’ says art director GK.
‘Naaka Mukka’ fame Sridhar has choreographed this fast-beat Kuthu song and it’s noteworthy that Meghna Naidu fainted down couple of times while filming this. According to the unit members, it has been mentioned that it will be yet another ‘Naaka Mukka’.
Choreographer Sridhar jocularly adds saying, “Meghna might have fainted out of wild dancing, but we are sure that the entire down will faint down for her glamorous treat.”
Rahman Clinches The Deal!
Oscar winning music director AR Rahman is not just signing up prestigious film offers from both the national as well as international film industries.The Mozart of Madras has clinched a mega deal for scoring the music for the Common Wealth Games opening ceremony song. The deal is estimated at Rs. 5.5 crores while the initial demand from the managers of Rahman was Rs. 15 crores. Rahman will also be a part of the promotional events that is to be held in Delhi between October 3 and 14.
