A Different Introduction for Vijay in Velayudham?

Actor Vijay might have appeared so far in action packed sequences as his opening sequence that includes his recent release ‘Kaavalan’. But he is likely to get a changeover with ‘Velayudham’. Accordingly Jayam Raja seems to have crafted a funny opening for Vijay that involves him pulling chain to stop the train moving to Chennai. Apparently we have Ticket Collector demanding for a Fine Money or else threaten him get off the train.

Immediately, the people from his town side fall on TC’s feet picking out their money and paying fine money for his sake saying, “Please don’t let him back to our town’.

So funny, isn’t? But we will have to wait and see whether the scene is finalized as it is yet to be shot.

Family films are back in Kollywood

From time immemorial family films set in rural milieu has worked with Tamil audiences.
The family film formula that seems to be working is showing life and times of a big joint family that splits due various human machinations.
Another sure fire formula is “Amma or Thankachi Pasam” (sister or mother sentiments). Add large doses of sentiments like childhood lovers getting separated
due to some ‘Kata Panchyat’ issues, laced with songs set in the countryside, plus temple festival ‘Thiruvizha’ songs mix it with rural slapstick comedy and local tea shop characters and finally a bloody climax.
Recently films like Mayandi Kudumbathar, Vamsam, Nellu and Thenmeruku Paravakattu falling under ‘family-village’ seems to have worked.
These films are not for Chennai city multiplex audiences and are targeted at single screens in rural areas. They have a faithful ‘family’ audiences and if they are made on a budget between Rs 4 to 5 crore are safe bets.
On March 18, Rasu Madhuvaran is coming out with his family saga cum tearjerker Muthukku Muthaga.
It has Vikranth, Harish, Oviya, Monica, Ilavarasu and above all Saranya Ponvannan in the all-important mother’s role.
Those who saw a special screening say it will work big time and ideal for B & C audiences.
Like his earlier films, the director Rasu Madhuvaran has chosen another emotional potboiler script for Muthukku Muthaga.
Says Rasu: “It is a neat family drama with a strong message to society”

There is truth in the news that Mani Ratnam is working on the film version of the classic novel 'Ponniyin Selvan' and three top leading actors will feature in the main cast. Buzz was also there saying Vijay, Vishal and Vikram would be playing the main three roles.

But  there has been no official announcement on the multi-crore project yet like when will be it begin, who the producer is, who are the big actors signed etc. More over if you analyse the current going of those involved, you would want answers to many questions.

Vishal has given his dates for three films at a stretch. His film with Prabhu Deva has just started. Vikram is highly indecisive these days. Vijay will start 'Pagalavan' immediately after 'Velayudham'. Then there is his film with 'Kalavani' director Sargunam.

With two of the proposed top actors having continuous projects in hand when will this new film start is the question on top of everyone's mind. More over Mani Ratnam has signed Telugu super star Mahesh Babu for a bilingual film which is soon to start.

But sources also say that whatever conditions may be prevailing, the filming of 'Ponniyin Selvan' will start soon and Vijay will be there in it. They also say Vijay ca be seen these days with a bound volume of the novel and he spends a lot of time reading it. So, the game is still on.

Sakthi Chidambaram is back

Making spoofs is like cakewalk for Sakthi Chidambaram. Most of his earlier films, though based on original scripts, had scenes making fun out of popular films or popular characters.
And the director is now toeing his own ‘success line’ once again. If sources are to be believed, he is planning to make a full-length science fiction, which at the same time would also be a spoof on other sci-fi movies.
“In all probability, Sakthi Chidambaram’s favourite actress Namitha could play the lead role in this hilarious entertainer, which the director-producer is planning to start soon,” sources say.
Interestingly, this is not the first time for the filmmaker to try his hands at a science fiction subject, as his earlier venture ‘Vyabari’, which had S J Suryah in the lead role, is about cloning.

Story of 'Ko' Unraveled

K.V. Anand has always been different in his thoughts as his kind of movies varies from each other. His debut directorial ‘Kana Kanden’ was one such illustration followed by Suriya’s ‘Ayan’. This time he has touched a different genre in ‘Ko’, which is reported to be a political-thriller.

It seems that the film revolves around two friends – a photo journalist (Jeeva) and Ajmal, who wants to be a politician aspiring to revolutionize the society. With the help of his political links, Jeeva helps Ajmal to get into politics only to get disappointed. Ajmal goes a wild way by cheating Jeeva and now it’s time to settle score between them.

Hollywood’s ‘State of Play’ too revolved around the same theme of two friends – a journalist and politician.

Deepika Siddharth Mallya’s girlfriend - Kevin Pietersen

Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone and business tycoon Vijay Mallya's son Siddharth are usual at parties and events, hand in hand or just together… However both of them would deny the world that they are not committed to each other. But now their hide-and-seek game is over as their relationship status has been confirmed by none other than English cricket player Kevin Pietersen.
Buzz goes that Kevin along with the couple had gone out for a lunch and what he posted on his micro-blogging site grabbed much attention from all. Quoted Kevin -"Just had a lovely lunch with @sidharthamallya & his girlfriend @deepikapadukone..
Thanks for picking up the bill Deepika.." Hmmm, that’s indeed a revelation; especially for the pair who has always shunned from answering questions regarding their relationship.
As a matter of fact Kevin is a part of the IPL team - Bangalore Royal Challengers - owned by the Mallyas.
Deepika maintained silence after a broken affair with Ranbir Kapoor. Later, Siddharth came on the scene, who accompanied her for most public events and both had kept making statements to media that they are ‘good friends’.

Sneha is Prashanth’s sister

Not many know that Sneha is playing a crucial role in ‘Ponnar Sankar’, Prashanth’s comeback movie which has script by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
Here we tell you one more thing- that the actress is doing the role of the protagonist’s (Prashanth) sister in the film, directed and produced by the actor’s father Thyagarajan.
It is to be noted here that Sneha started her career in the tinsel town by playing Prashanth’s love interest in ‘Virumbugiren’. A few years after that, she once again shared the screen space with the actor in ‘Ayudham’.
Sources close to the unit say Sneha’s act in ‘Ponnar Sankar’ is not the usual sister role one would associate with a Tamil film. “It comes with a difference and has got ample importance. Hence the actress accepted the offer,” they say.

‘Velayudham’ Song

While addressing the large fans gathering at the protest rally in Nagapattinam recently, Vijay also took some time to talk about his film ‘Velayudham’. Vijay said ‘Velayudham’ will more than compensate for ‘Kavalan’ with enough action and masala. He said ‘Velayudham’ has two kuthu songs to make the people get up and dance.
But there is another emotional song which has become the favourite of Vijay. He said that, though the song was written for a different situation, when ever he hears it he just can’t stop thinking of his fans.
The said song goes like this:
Rathathin Rathame En Iniya Udanpirappe
Sonthathin Sonthame Naan Iyangum Uyir Thudipe
Ammavum Appavum Ellame Neethaane
En Vazhkai Unakkallavaa
Sethaalum Puthaithaalum Chediyaga Mulaithaalum
En Vaasam Unakkallavaa

Taapsee Goes for a Break

Delhi based software engineer Taapsee wouldn’t have imagined that she would become so busy with her films. The actress has established a prominent position in Telugu film industry while her entry into Kollywood with ‘Aadukalam’ has been quite stupendous. The actress had to be involved in non-stop filming of ‘Vandhan Vendran’ nearly for 40 days followed by her Malayalam project in Kerala.

It looks like the actress is very much exhausted with her continuous works and is now taking a break from everything.

Taapsee is now chilling out with her family members and friends in Delhi and will get back to shooting shortly.
