'Nanban' In The Place Of ‘Enthiran’

It looks like director Shankar will complete ‘Nanban’ within short span of time, say before Jan-Feb 2012. The crew has already completed working on couple of schedules that was shot across Ooty, Dehradun and Andaman.

Before couple of days, the crew returned from Ooty after shooting few portions and are now back in Chennai. Shankar has planned a week schedule at the indoors of Studios. It was the same place where the huge sets were erected for ‘Enthiran’.

Soon after completing few portions in Chennai, Shankar is planning for some songs to be shot in Spain and other parts of the globe.

'Mankatha' Over, ‘Bodyguard’ Now

Actress Trisha has become too choosy now. Recently we heard it straight from her shoulders that the actress is not interested over stereotypical roles in commercial cinemas and wants to do something special that will be her showpiece. ‘I want to be a part of films like ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ and ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ that had a good scope for me’ adds Trisha, who has been refusing offers of commercial movies from leading actors and filmmakers.

The actress had recently completed shooting for ‘Mankatha’ in Hyderabad. She has now started working on her new Telugu film titled ‘Bodyguard’, which happens to be a remake of Siddique’s Malayalam film with the same title.

It is worth mentioning that ‘Bodyguard’ and its remake have got some enchanting pairs: Dhilip-Nayanthara (Bodyguard), Vijay-Asin (Kaavalan), Venkatesh-Trisha (Telugu), Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor (Hindi).

Kavya Madhavan Divorced

The Ernakulam Family Court had issued a divorce decree to Kavya Madhavan. The actress was married to Nischal Chandra, who is employed as an officer in Kuwait. Soon after marriage, Kavya quit acting to stay with her husband in Kuwait.
However, within five months of marriage she developed differences of opinion with her husband and returned to India. She then filed for divorce and continued to concentrate on her acting career.
Her divorce came up for hearing recently and the magistrate declared Kavya and Nischal divorced.

'Eeram' Becomes A Hit In Telugu

Shankar’s production ‘Eeram’ that marked the debut directorial of Arivazhagan was released before couple of years. The film leaped with laurels and was ennobled as a trendsetter in the genre of ‘Supernatural thriller’. The film was released in Telugu as ‘Vaishali’ on last Friday and the critics were astonished with the stunning make of this film.

Starring Aadhi, Sindhu Menon and Saranya Mohan in lead roles, the film has musical score by Thamman. Since these brand names including director Shankar are more familiar in Telugu film industry, the film had some good expectations and that too with a sleek and stylish trailer.

The film has received 95% of positive reviews, which is something rare with the Tamil movies dubbed in Telugu.

Simbhu Auctioned For Crores

Silambarasan has three films on different stages of productions. Much prior to the release of ‘Vaanam’, he had completed shooting for his other film ‘Poda Podi’, which is close on the heels of completion while ‘Vettai Mannan’ is done with some 20 days shooting. Recently, a huge set worth approximately 20Lakhs was erected at Binny Mills of Meenambakkam.

The scene is about the world’s powerful mafia kingpins and gangsters gathering for an action, where they will hire the smartest and brilliant assassins for their gangs. Silambarasan is auctioned for a whooping amount. It has a set up like busy market place and the shooting was done for couple of days.

‘Vettai Mannan’ is directed by Nelson, a close pal of Silambarasan and is produced by SS Chakravarthy.

Avan Ivan to rock in Telugu

Avan Ivan is to be released in Telugu as Vaadu Veedu. The music launch for the Telugu version is to be held in Hyderabad tomorrow. The entire team comprising of Bala, Vishal, Arya, GM Kumar, Arthur Wilson will be flying out tonight.
The film is scheduled for release in the second week of June. A lot has been written about Vishal’s performance in the film and expectations have hit the roof. It is hoped that the film will hit the bull’s eye with the Tamil as well as Telugu audiences and reap a rich harvest at the National awards like Aadukalam did.

Vijay throws surprise party

Director Jayam Raja received a pleasant surprise on his birthday. Workaholic that he is, he was busy shooting some sequences for Velayudham at Binny Mills. During an intermission, he was in for a shock as a beautifully decorated cake was wheeled in with his name on it.
The director was quite overcome with joy and he cut the cake while the entire unit cheered for him and wished him a Happy Birthday. It turned out that Vijay had planned the whole celebration and kept it a secret from him. Thoughtful person that he is he had also arranged surprise parties for Hansika, cinematographer Priyan, and Saranya Mohan on their birthdays. Very sweet of him, we must say.

Aadukalam team meets the CM

The 58^th National awards saw Aadukalam win in as many as six categories. Following this triumph, members of the cast and crew met the chief minister, J Jayalalitha and received her hearty congratulations and best wishes for the future. The entire team came in for praise for the brilliant work done on Aadukalam.
Producer Kadiresan, director Vetrimaran, Dhanush, and Kishore Kumar were present for the occasion. It was a proud moment for all present.

Vikram to don dual roles in Suseendran’s next

We had earlier told you that after the success of ‘Azhagar Samiyin Kudhirai,’ director Suseendran is to work on a project with Vikram and Deeksha Seth in the lead roles.

Rumours were making rounds that the project is titled ‘Vendhan’ but in an IG exclusive, Suseendran clarified that the project is yet to be titled and the official title will be out soon.

Sources say that, there is another lead lady in the movie that will be played by Mithra Kurian who awed us all in ‘Kavalan.’

Now the Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that, Vikram will be donning two roles, that of a father and the son in this action-packed masala flick. This is the first time ever that Vikram will be donning dual roles of a father and son. The project will go on floors by June 7 and the music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

With Vikram known as one of the best talents in Indian film industry, Suseendran known for his touch of realism and unique scripts, the movie has sure stirred a lot of expectations among movie-buffs.

Kaakha Kaakha remake to hit screens in July

Filmmaker Nishikanth Kamat hogged the limelight with films like Dombivli Fast (Marathi’, it’s Tamil remake ‘Evano Oruvan’) and ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ (Hindi) that were based on powerful themes. The filmmaker was very impressed with Gautham Menon’s ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ and felt that the theme is very much relevant with the city of Mumbai as cops face more problems relentlessly due to increasing crime rate.
Produced by Vipul Shah, the Hindi remake was titled as ‘Force’ with John Abraham and Genelia D’ Souza playing the lead roles.  Nishikanth has crafted a screenplay that will be completely different from the original version.
Recently, the marriage sequence between John and Genelia was shot in the backdrops of gigantic sets erected in one of the famous indoor studios in Mumbai. With just few portions pending to be shot, Vipul Shah has confirmed that ‘Force’ will hit screens by July.

National award winner says Vijay is his favorite!

Dinesh, National award winner for best choreography in Aadukalam says that Vijay is his favorite hero and dancer. He has nothing but praise for Ilaya Thalapathy’s flawless execution of intricate dance moves. The choreographer received applause for his work in Chithiram Pesudhadi and Anjathey but the National award has been the icing on the cake.
Things are looking good in other areas of his life as well, since he has just finished building his dream house, at an ideal location a little distance away from Chennai. He will be having the house warming ceremony soon, and is very excited about it!

Hollywood actress to pair with Simbhu

A Hollywood actress will be pairing with Simbhu in the film Vettai Mannan. Nic Arts S S Chakravarthy is producing this high budgeted film. Simbhu is doing the lead role. Three heroines are pairing with him.

One of the heroine is Telugu actress Deeksha Seth. The other heroines are yet to be finalized. Jai and ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’ Ganesh are also sharing the screen with Simbhu. Sakthi is handling the camera while Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music.
Nelson who is directing this film said, "This is a stylish story. People will say that they have never seen a film like this because each scene will be in such a way. The film begins in Chennai and travels to various foreign countries including Brazil. As per the story, a foreign heroine is required.
So talks are going on with a Hollywood actress with regard to this. Who is that heroine is suspense for time being. Recently we had shot some important sequences at erected sets in the Binny Mills. 200 junior artists participated in this shooting. This sequence and the sets will be the highlight of this film. Jai is donning an important role in this film. There are seven songs in this film. All the songs of this film will be of a different dimension."

Bhavana to pair with Vijay

There is news that Bhavana will pair with Vijay in the film titled Pagalavan. Vijay is currently acting in Velayudham and Nanban. Seeman who had earlier directed in films like Panchalakuruchi, Iniyavale, Thambi and Valthukkal is now directing a film titled Pagalavan after a long gap.

The shooting of this film should have commenced last year itself. But Seeman was arrested for his alleged inflammatory speech at meeting in Chennai. After coming out of prison, Seeman met Vijay and spoke about Pagalavan. Vijay also agreed. But because of the assembly elections, the shooting of the film was once again postponed.
Now after completing all his work, Seeman has started his work connected with Pagalavan. Seeman is now busy in selecting the cast and crew for this film. There are two heroines in Pagalavan. Seeman has selected Bhavana as one of the heroine. Seeman has selected Bhavana because she has already acted in his film Valthukkal. Hansika Motwani is another heroine of this film. Now Vijay is currently busy in the final stage shooting of Velayudham. He is also acting in the film Nanban directed by Shankar. After completing these films, Vijay will act in Pagalavan. It is also important to note that Vijay is for the first time acting in Seeman’s film.

Jayalalitha for Velayudham audio launch?

Vijay’s Velayudham directed by Jayam Raja is to have a grand audio launch soon. It has been murmured that CM, Jayalalitha will be the guest of honor at the function. However, since it will not be possible for her to accommodate the audio launch in the midst of her hectic schedule, she has given her blessings to the cast and crew to go ahead without her, assuring them of her best wishes.
Music is by Vijay Antony and he has composed five songs, which the makers are convinced will be chartbusters and a treat for Vijay's fans as word is that he has danced like never before. Pooja becomes Princess now

Pooja never meant to take up acting as her profession as she openly confessed that it is more like a hobby for her. But her commendable performance in ‘Naan Kadavul’ kept everyone singing praises of her. However, the actress kept refusing offers from the Tamil film industry and it was revealed that the actress will soon enter wedlock. But Pooja refused them as baseless rumors and said that she is taking care of her father’s business.
The latest we hear about Pooja is that she has signed a big-budgeted Sri Lankan movie titled as ‘Kusa Baba’. Touted to be a period film, the film has female lead character as a princess.
On signing new Tamil projects, Pooja says that she is holding discussions and will soon make announcements.

Vanitha Vijayakumar arrested!

Vanitha Vijayakumar, daughter of actor Vijayakumar has been arrested! She has been in the news following an ugly altercation with members of her family that resulted in arrest warrants being issued variously for her father, Vijayakumar, step-brother Arun Vijay, and later her second husband Anandaraj. Apparently, the tussle happened following a bitter argument with Vijayakumar allegedly detaining her son Vijay Srihari, whose father is Akash her first husband.
Following this drama, Akash petitioned successfully for custody of his son, and the Madras High court granted him custody for 5 days a week with the stipulation that the child be returned to the mother for the duration of the weekend. Vanitha claims that Akash has ignored the ruling and is not allowing her to see the nine year old boy.
Vanitha met with the Virugambakkam police and lodged a complaint but she claims no action was taken. She then staged a protest outside Akash’s house declaring a fast unto death if her son was not returned immediately to her. The police then arrived on the scene and arrested her for being a public nuisance and disturbing the peace.

An Italian honor for Vikram

‘Chiyaan’ Vikram becomes the first Indian actor to receive a doctorate from a European University for Acting. A 110 year old university in Italy has conferred the doctorate on actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram on 29 May, 2011. The Universita Popolare Degli Studi Di Milano (UUPN) a renowned university in Italy also called the People’s University of Milan presented the Tamil actor with this honor.
Vikram personally accepted the honor from Prof Dr Marco Grapecia, President of the University, Vice President and Syndicate Members who conferred the Doctorate upon the actor. Among the dignitaries present were Vice President of West Africa and Member of Planning Commission of China.

Vijay thanks fans, in style

Whatever Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay does, creates a buzz among film buffs. The star’s works were earlier much-talked about in the state for his open and continuous support towards the AIADMK political party during the Tamil Nadu state elections.

The star recently met his fans at the Sangeetha Mandapam, a wedding hall in Chennai. The event was conducted by Vijay to thank his fans for respecting his word and supporting the AIADMK political party during the state elections.

The star was overwhelmed with gratitude that his fans chose to respect his word as there are several other political parties, but they chose to believe their idol’s sense of right and wrong. He expressed that his fans’ club, by doing good deeds will be one that works for the civilians and that they will show continuous support to the Chief Minister in all her deeds.

This was followed by a grand feast including South Indian favourite, biriyini, for the fans offered by the star.

Anjali’s next is ‘Karungali’

She smiled her way into our hearts with her performance in ‘Angadi Theru.’ She proved she can pull up humour successfully with ‘Thoonga Nagaram.’ Now the young actress, Anjali, is getting ready for the release of her next film ‘Karungali.’

Sources close to the actress have revealed that she has added on a few kilos to suit the role of a married woman for this film.

We do not know if it is by luck or by choice that Anjali lands roles to perform in all her films. ‘Karungali’ is a film with grey shades and has ample scope for the actress to perform.

The storyline of ‘Karungali’ deals with how net savvy present day couples are and how destructive it can become if not used wisely. The film is also believed to showcase how relationships can be misused and how people misuse their relationship to threaten and blackmail the family.

Anjali is believed to have revealed that she has done her bit of homework in researching about certain aspects based on this theme which have proved very useful for her in playing her character in the film successfully.

Femme fatale – Tapsee

None would imagine Tapsee in the role of a femme fatale, but that is exactly what she is!

The timid and mellow girl who appeared as Dhanush’s love interest in National Award winning ‘Aadukalam’ seems to have undergone a metamorphosis, at least in terms of her characterization. She is all geared up to play a gun-wielding goddess in her next flick ‘Vanthaan Ventraan.’

The actress is believed to have undergone a training session under a professional shooter on how to hold the gun and take aim. And mind you the gun that Tapsee trained with was not a toy but for real and fully loaded.

Since the director wanted his lead lady to play the part with finesse he wanted her to take tips from a professional, say sources close to the filming unit.

There are also reports that Tapsee’s character who is buoyant as the film opens changes dramatically towards the end with her hunting down her attacker in the crowded streets of Mumbai. Tapsee will play Jeeva’s heroine in ‘Vanthaan Ventraan’ and the film has been directed by Kannan.

A R Rahman Shocked With Oscar Awards

Ismail Darbar who is a Bollywood music composer made many allegations against A R Rahman while speaking to the media in Nagpur. He said, “ I have a feeling that A R Rahman has paid money to get the Oscar Awards for the film Slumdog Millionaire. If A R Rahman has real talent, he should have got the Oscar Awards for the film Roja or Bombay. I know that he has purchased these awards.”

When asked Ismail Darbar if he has got any proof for his statement, he was not able to give a fitting reply. Bollywood people condemned and lambasted Ismail for his irresponsible fabricated statement.

Bollywood music composer Lalith Pandit while commenting about this said, “ A R Rahman is a person who brought name and fame to India by winning the Oscar Awards. It is not right to speak bad about him.”

When asked A R Rahman about this allegation, he said, “ Nobody can purchase Oscar Awards. Three thousand people vote for this award. How is it possible to buy this award.”

Kajal as Goan girl in 'Singam'

Kajal Agarwal who is making her debut in Hindi version of 'Singam' with Ajay Devgn is playing the role of a Goan girl. She herself revealed this to the media recently.

Though Anushka Shetty played the role in Tamil and Telugu versions of this film, Kajal bagged it in Hindi. When asked if she would imitate Anushka in Hindi version, she said,

"Absolutely not. I am playing the role of a Goan girl in this movie. It is made according to the sensibilities of Hindi audience. I have started shooting for this film. Infact my role has been re-written completely for this film. Anushka did a great job in 'Singam' that released as 'Yamudu' in Telugu. If I have any doubts on the role, I will certainly contact her" Kajal said.

Riding high on success with 'Darling', 'Mr Perfect' and 'Brindavanam', Kajal is now number one heroine in Tollywood. She is being talked about as the next Soundarya, thanks to her roles. We are yet to see how her career in Bollywood shapes up.

Salman Khan praises DSP

South India's popular music composer Devi Sri Prasad won a new fan-Salman Khan. Apparently Bollywood superstar is very happy with Dhinka Chika song composed by Devi. This is the same tune as that of Ringa Ringa.... composed by Devi for Telugu film 'Arya 2'.

Dhika Chika has sort of become second national anthem and biggest USP of Salman Khan's 'Ready'. TV channels have been telecasting the making of this song. Salman is apparently very happy with the response this song has evoked. Devi Sri says he is glad Salman liked the song.

"I went to Mumbai to perform at the audio launch of Ringa Ringa. Salman came backstage and hugged me. He was happy with the composition. He told me that he heard Ringa Ringa in Mauritus and liked it so much that he repeatedly heard the song. He told me that he heard about me and my onstage performances. I am happy that Salman liked it. Preetham too met me in Mumbai and told me that I created a monster with this song." Devi said.

Devi Sri Prasad's 'Mr Perfect' and '100% Love' too are superhits in Telugu film industry. His Tamil movie with Dhanush as hero is all set to release soon. If that is also a hit, DSP will have the rare distinction of composing chartbusters in all the three languages - Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.

Anjali's 7 Kilo Risk

Director Mu Kalangiam while speaking to the media said, “Usually heroes like Surya and Vikram will reduce their weight or have six packs for their roles. But our heroine Anjali has done this. She will be very slim when she is a new bride and then after her marriage, she will look fluffy. She has increased her weight by 7 kilograms. A heroine who is in the top will never take the risk of reducing or gaining weight. The confidence that Anjali had on Karungaali made her do this. Many are asking me that where I have been so long. I wish to reply this through the film Karungaali. This gap allowed me to study the problems of the educated youth."

Kalangiam also said, "The crux of the story is that how the relationship between the husband and wife is affected because of internet and cell phones. I am also donning a dreaded role in this film. Someone asked me that whether that acting is so easy. This film will suit me. That is why I have donned the role. Except me, everybody has acted well. I could not gauge my acting. Only the audience should rate my acting.”

Mankatha to be a Sizzling Summer Release

Ajith's 50th film Mankatha is hurtling towards the finish line. The final schedule will be wrapped up in Hyderabad by the end of this month. Following this, post - production work will begin in earnest. And the film will be ready for release in July.
The film is a multi - starrer with the likes of Arjun, Vaibhav, Premji Amaren, Trisha, Andrea, Lakshmi Rai, and Anjali as part of the cast. A.R. Murugadoss on 7am Arivu Release date

Finally we hear it from the horse’s mouth. The release date of Suriya starrer ‘7am Arivu’ has been a long wait for the fans. With A.R. Murugadoss making his way back to Kollywood after a sabbatical, the expectations got bigger for the collaboration of ‘Ghajini’ team. It was expected that the film would hit screens in April-May as the producers felt summer as the high time for theatres.
However, as the production works got postponed due to various reasons, the makers decided to postpone the release by July. A.R. Murugadoss has mentioned that the post production works are progressing rapidly and will be completed by next month. The audio launch is scheduled to be held by mid June. Ileana refuses to reveal about Dawood Ibrahim

Buzz is that Ileana has been offered a role in the Bollywood flick which is based on the life of the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The actress has reportedly been offered the role to play the Don’s love-interest.

When Ileana was questioned about this, she refused to divulge any details. The actress however revealed that she has signed up a Hindi film but she could not reveal the details of the project before it is officially announced.
She said that the Nanban shooting is in progress and she is actively involved in it at the moment. Details about her forthcoming films will be made in the days to come.

Suriya to play 20 different roles in Maatraan

Early today we have reported that Kajal Agarwal has been confirmed as the female lead opposite Suriya and now we come across a shocking update of the film. If recalled there was an update a few days back stating that Suriya is playing five different characters in Maatraan but latest we hear is that Suriya playing 20 different roles in the film. SUN TV FY11 Net Profit up 36 to Rs 772 Cr.

Sun TV Network Ltd. reported fiscal year stand-alone net profit of Rs.772.22 crore, up by 36 percent from the Rs.567.38 crore for the year ended March 31 last year. Total revenue increased by 37 percent to Rs.1,970.50 crore from the Rs.1,437.52 crore in 2010. The company's board recommended a final dividend of 75 percent or Rs.3.75 per equity share of Rs.5 each for the fiscal year 2011.

Gautham Menon decides on June Release

Gautham Menon’s production venture Veppam is getting ready for a June release. This film has been directed by Anjana who had assisted Gautham in several films. Veppam stars Nani, Karthik Kumar, Nithya Menon and Bindhu Madhavi in the lead roles.
According to sources close to the Veppam team, the film dwells on the lives of the people living in the slums and their struggle for existence. The post production work of Veppam is almost over and the film is expected to hit the screen sometime in June. An official announcement pertaining to the exact date will be made soon.

Suriya Becomes Cricketer

Cinema and Cricket go together and are strictly considered as the two largest religions of India. Naturally with IPL and celebrities from all film industries coming together at various matches, this had left Sarath Kumar to think about a good concept, which paved a way for ‘Celebrity Cricket League’.

The logo was unveiled by Suriya, who will be leading Tamil film industry team that comprises of Abbas, Vikranth, Shiva, Ramana, Vishnu, Jithan Ramesh and others. They addressed the media channels and discussed on the CCL season.

Tamannah in Tension

Rumours that she is not giving importance to Kollywood and that she would soon marry a man of her choice have irked Tamannah a lot. “There are a lot of good things to write about me,” she says.

“I have learnt Tamil in a very short span of time. And I am even ready to dub on my own. But no one is writing about this. People are running behind gossips,” says the actress, who is now doing four films in Telugu.

“Yes, that is the only reason behind not committing any new projects in Tamil. I love Kollywood a lot. After completing my commitments in Tollywood, I will sure do Tamil movies,” she says.

Currently part of ‘Venghai’ opposite Dhanush, Tamannah says, “Venghai will repeat Siruthai magic. It is a racy story and director Hari is a thorough professional. He is an expert at making commercial films.”

Mazhaikalam arrives in July

Mazhaikalam is an effort of debut director Deepan. Though he is new to direction, he has gained vast experience by assisting several directors especially those who have worked with Super Good Films. Mazhaikalam stars Sri Ram, a Koothupattarai student who will be making his acting debut, and Saranya of Kadhal fame.
This is a love story with a suspense factor involved. Since the storyline of Mazhaikalam revolves in Chennai and Pondicherry, the film was shot entirely in these locations. Johnson has scored the background music for Mazhaikalam while Prem Anand has composed music for five songs. Yesudasan has produced this film under the banner AR Screens Pvt Ltd.

‘Nanban’ goes outskirts

Whatever director Shankar does creates a buzz all over the industry and among movie buffs. Of course, the director-cum-producer has directed around ten films so far in his eighteen years career as a director and each film from ‘Gentleman’ to ‘Enthiran’ has been a blockbuster breaking all records.

His forthcoming venture ‘Nanban’ is the official remake of Bollywood blockbuster, ‘3 Idiots.’ But what not many know is that, ‘Nanban’ is the first remake directorial venture of the ace director, Shankar.

The Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that the team flew down to Coimbatore yesterday where some of the key scenes in the film will be shot. Jeeva who came back from Switzerland joined the team immediately to shoot for his scenes.

Whereas actress Ileana tweeted that she is back to work at the shooting sets of ‘Nanban’ in Coimbatore and its burning hot in there!

Radhika slams Kushboo

Just hours after the AIADMK emerged triumphant in the Assembly elections, Kushboo resigned from her post in the small screen association. This move of her has come for criticism from Radhika Sarathkumar.

Radhika, who is one of the leading producers of television content in south India, said in an interview: “In fact it was me who was initially elected for the post. But later I gave it to Kushboo.”

“Only after that Kushboo joined the Dravid Munnetra Kazhagam and campaigned for the party in the polls. But when the DMK faced a defeat, she resigned from the post like a Chief Minister,” she added.

On Vadivelu’s campaign for the DMK-led alliance, Radhika said, “He could have concentrated on highlighting the achievements of the government rather than coming down heavily on individuals. People have rejected his claims.”

Zarine plays Vikram’s Princess

When Salman Khan’s ‘Veer’ was turned down by Katrina Kaif, for reasons she knows best, Salman went on to feature her look alike, a model, Zarine Khan. The actress was introduced to the world of filmdom through Salman and she played a princess opposite him.

As we had earlier told you Zarine is shortly making her debut in Kollywood, starring opposite Chiyaan Vikram in ‘Karikalan,’ a period flick. Although Zarine is yet to sign on the dotted lines the news is confirmed, say sources.

Not just that, Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that Zarine is playing a princess in ‘Karikalan’ as well. She had earlier played ‘Princess Yashodara’ opposite Salman. It is said that the project will go on floors soon, and scenes involving Zarine will begin filming by this September. She is taking time off till then to practice her Tamil.

She was criticized for her weight in ‘Veer’ and the movie didn’t fair well at the box-office. Well, let’s just hope the magic works now for Zarine and Vikram…

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff is interested in acting in Tamil films

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff said that he is interested to act in Tamil films. Jackie Shroff had donned an important role in the film Aaranya Kaandam produced by S P B Charan. This film is to hit the screens next month. Jackie Shroff while speaking to the media said, " I had acted in this film because it is my favourite singer’s production.
Apart from this I also liked the story. Tamil cinema is in an advanced stage in technology as well as in handling the story. Because of this I am interested in acting in Tamil films. I will continue to act in Tamil films if I come across good stories and roles.
I have donned the role of Chennai underworld don in this film. This film has an innovative story. I don’t understand that why the Censor Board people have created so much problems for this film. There are news that I am acting in other language films because I don’t have offers in Hindi. That is wrong. I have donned solo heroes in 170 films. I have so worked with 100 directors. Most of my films have been success at box office barring a few."

Siruthai Director calls Vishal-Thamannah

Cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Siva is acclaimed for his big hits in Telugu ‘Shankam’ and ‘Shouryam’. His directorial venture in Kollywood commenced with ‘Siruthai’, a remake of Telugu movie ‘Vikramarkudu’. The film was commercially successful yielding whopping amount of profit for the producers. Gradually Siva became one of the most wanted director in K-town as the producers desperately looking out for bigger profits in box office wanted to sign him.
The filmmaker has now zeroed down on Vishal for his next untitled film that will have Tamannah in the female lead role. The actress has been ranked as a leading heroine in Tollywood with the grand success of ‘100% Love’ and she is curiously awaiting the release of ‘Badrinath’.
Though she has been receiving more Telugu offers, the actress didn’t turn down the offer of Siva and has okayed the script.

Shruthi dons the role of scientist

Shruthi Haasan is donning the role of a scientist in the film Ezham Arivu directed by A R Murugadoss. Shruthi while speaking about this said, " I am acting in the Tamil film Ezham Arivu.
In Telugu I am pairing with Siddarth in the film O My Friend and with Junior NTR in a film. The film Ezham Arivu will give me a good introduction in Tamil. I don’t want to reveal whether I am donning the role of a scientist or not at this stage.
I can never forget acting with Surya. My friends all became very happy when they heard that I am going to pair with Surya. I had learnt a lot from Surya. Many are asking me that whether I am having relationship with Siddarth. I have spoken about this many times. I wish to speak more about my work than sharing my personal matters."

I am ready to quit - Aishwarya Rai

Wedding bells for Radha Ravi’s son

Radha Ravi is the son of the late super actor M R Radha and also the General Secretary of Nadigar Sangam. Radha Ravi’s son Hari Radha is getting married to Divya alias Mahalakshmi who hails from Bangalore. The marriage is to take place in Chennai on 5th June.
Radha Ravi has a daughter Rekha and son Hari Radha Ravi. His daughter Rekha is already married. His son Hari Radha has studied B Com. He has also donned the villain role in the film Tirumandiram which is yet to be released. The marriage will be held on 5th June at Srivaaru Venkatachalapathi Palace in Vannagaram near Chennai.
The marriage will take place at 9 am. The reception is being held on 4th June at 6.30 pm. Cinema and political people will attend this reception. During the recent elections Radha Ravi has canvassed for AIDMK party. It is not known whether Chief Minister Jayalalitha will attend this marriage or not.

Deiva Thirumagal survives controversy

Vikram’s Deiva Thirumagal directed by AL Vijay will be out on June 17^th. The film ran into a spate of controversy regarding the title and alleged misrepresentation of a caste. But all the problems have been resolved smoothly. The cast and crew of the film can breathe easy now because now the fate of the film will be decided solely by the audience it was intended for.
The silver lining is that all the controversy has created a lot of interest in the film and people are eager to see it. Vikram, Anushka, Amala Paul, and the makers are on a promotional tour across the South to make sure audience interest is sustained. The film will be released in Telugu as Nanna on the same date.

Mohanlal and Sameera's Oru Naal Varum

Malayalam Superstar, Mohanlal’s film with Sameera, Oru Naal Varum is to be dubbed and released in Tamil with the same name. The movie did not fare too well at the box office in Kerala but the makers are going ahead with the Tamil release as both the stars have a huge fan base in Tamil Nadu.
The film is written by actor Sreenivasan and directed by Rajeev Kumar. It is about an ordinary man who just wants to build a house of his own but has to face lot of difficulties to do so.

Happy Birthday Karthi!!!!

Karthi’s uniqueness in his strategy pulls him up grandiloquently for Paradisiacal Glory. The actor had kept himself away from K-town for a very long time and started off his career working as assistant director to Manirathnam. His gateway to stardom was quite bigger than he expected as ‘Paruthiveeran’ was a blockbuster reaching him towards the nook and corners of the globe. He strode with a bold attempt of choosing to act in an experimental project like ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ that broke the barriers of how clichéd protagonists.
