Eega/Naan Ee as Makkhi

Blockbuster film Eega in Telugu and Naan Ee in Tamil has been titled Makkhi. Director SS Rajamouli had said that the Hindi dubbed version of this film would hit the screens soon and now we have news that the film has been titled Makkhi.

There were rumors that Rajamouli would remake the film in Hindi but he had denied it outright stating that remakes are not his cup of tea. As planned, the dubbed version is now getting to hit the silver screens, say sources.

Maakhi stars Nani and Samantha in the lead roles with Sudeep playing the central character as the villain. With the film turning out to be a smash hit in Tamil and Telugu, it is expected to rake in collections in Bollywood as well.

Actress Aishwarya flies with Aaradhya to Chicago

Papa Abhishek Bachchan is missing his family many miles away from home in Chicago and his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya took the Tuesday early morning flight to Chicago to join Abhishek Bachchan who is shooting in Chicago for Yash Raj’s ‘Dhoom 3’.
Aishwarya and Aaradhya has been caught at Mumbai International airport boarding New York flight around 2:30 am on Tuesday. Media and cameraperson jammed at the airport but Ash handled her daughter smartly so that her face may not get clicked. But paparazzi caught the looks of Aaradhya on camera and she looked little discomfort as it was early morning and very crowded.
Early this month, Amitabh Bachchan paid a short visit to his son in Chicago. Abhishek who will be in Chicago for the entire moth of October was missing his family and hence he called up Ash and Aaradhya.
Well, Aaradhya will not only get to play with her father but she will be getting another playmate in Chicago who is almost of her age. He is Aamir Khan and Kiran’s son Azad.
So, it’s family time for both Aamir and Kiran.

Director Shankar to take I to Bollywood?

The latest buzz in the industry is that, director Shankar is all set to remake his ‘I’ in Hindi soon. It’s being said that he has approached Tollywood superstar Mahesh to play the lead in it.

A source in the know says, “Most of Shankar’s earlier films have been remade in Hindi, or dubbed in the language. Now, Shankar is planning to remake I in Hindi. He first approached Hrithik Roshan, but things didn’t work out. He then met Mahesh Babu in Chennai to discuss the possibility.”

However, a close associate of Shankar rubbishes these reports, saying, “Shankar has no such plans as of now. He has finished a schedule of this Vikram-starrer in Chennai. We are waiting for the visa formalities to come through, and will head to China soon.”

Director KS Ravikumar turns busy bee!

KS Ravikumar is one busy man these days. The man who was supposed to shoot for Rajini’s Rana, has not been able to do so, due to the postponement of the film. In the meantime, he has got busy shooting for the Hindi remake of his 2003 hit Saamy which had Trisha and Vikram in the lead.

The man is super busy shooting with Sanjay Dutt for the film. And according to the grapevine, the director has brought about a sea change in the shooting pattern of Sanjay. The actor who is known for his easy going manner during shoots, arriving late and shooting according to his whims, is now imbibing and impressed with Ravikumar’s style of working.

For the huge change is that he has managed to get Sanjay to shoot six scenes in one day instead of the normal two he is used to doing in Bollywood!

According to a unit member, “Sanjay Dutt himself has been saying aloud that he can’t remember when or which director in his life had made him shoot like this. Even the makers can’t believe that this is the same actor with whom directors had trouble finishing two scenes with him in the past.”

After shooting with south director K S Ravikumar, who makes his Bollywood debut with the project, Sanjay seems to be imbibing the South style of working

The source further added: “Sanjay not only comes on time but stays till the director is totally happy with his work. He has been further heard saying that he now understands how South stars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan work as Ravikumar has directed both of them in his films.”

Sanjay Dutt has been paired opposite Prachi Desai in the film.

'Naan Ee' to release in Hindi on October 12!

Bilingual 'Naan Ee' - 'Eega' weaved magic at the Tamil - Telugu box-office and raked in moolah from all quarters. The film is now all set for a release in Hindi on October 12 and will be releasing as 'Makhi' (meaning fly).

The film's antagonist, Sudeep, who is more like the hero of the project (after the fly of course), has confirmed this news on his microblogging page...

Directed by SS Rajamouli, Naan Ee stars Nani, Sudeep and Samantha and is more of a good vs. evil battle, with the hero avenging his death by reincarnating as a fly. The CG works of the film were largely praised and it attracted family audience of all ages, including little tots, thanks to the clean script.

In Hindi, parts where Nani appeared alone seem to have been re-shot with Abhishek Bachchan. The rest of the film has been dubbed.

SS Rajamouli managed to make a blockbuster with a fly in the south where heroes are worshipped, whether the film will work among Hindi audience who are mostly about stardom and glam remains to be seen!

Music Director A R Rahman, Shahrukh's film named - Jab Tak Hai Jaan!

Shahrukh Khan's film with Yash Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma is waited with bated breath not just in the north but all over the country, thanks to the coming together of Yash Chopra and SRK after years and Yash Chopra making his comeback as a director after eight long years.

Interestingly AR Rahman is teaming up with the B-town's ace filmmaker for the first time, by scoring the music of the film.

Although this film is slated for a Diwali release it wasn't named and a guessing name was on with regards to the title but all that can be put to rest now, as the film has finally been christened as 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'! (Meaning till when there's life in me).

It was rumored that it will be announced on September 27 but the makers have announced it today. The film sees Shahrukh as an army officer in parts of the film and as a love guru in few parts; it's touted to be a love triangle.

Director Prabhu Deva to direct Salman Khan, again!

Things can't get better for Prabhu Deva in Bollywood. Reports have it that he will be helming his 'Wanted' actor Salman Khan aka Sallu Bhai, for the second time! The film will be produced by Tips and will go on floors towards the fag end of 2013.

Only recently, IG reported that Prabhu Deva will be remaking Tamil blockbuster 'Ayan' in Hindi for Tips, thus its said Salman will play the lead role in the remake of the commercial venture on smuggling.

Tips has reportedly confirmed a film with Prabhu Deva and Salman Khan but nothing about the subject has been announced, however industry insiders have it that this will be the Hindi remake of Ayan.

Prabhu Deva is currently working on the Hindi remake of Nuvvostanante Nenodantana in Hindi with Girish and Shruti Haasan in lead roles.

Actor Dhanush's Raanjhana Shooting in Benares

Dhanush has flown down to Benares where he will be stationed for the next 40 days. Director Anand Rai has scheduled the shooting of Raanjhana in this location and Dhanush, being the hero of this flick, will be joining the rest of the team.

Interestingly, Dhanush will be making his Bollywood debut with Raanjhana and expectations are high as he is a National Award winning actor!

Actor Vijay in Ek Tha Tiger Tamil remake?

Ever since Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger became a roaring success, there is a lot of demand for its remake. The latest buzz in k-town is that Vijay will be seen in this commercial success.

Though many filmmakers are in the race to bag the remake rights, we hear that Jayam Raja is keen on getting the project. Also he wishes to rope in Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the remake.

The duo who had earlier worked together in Velayudham (again a remake of a Telugu film) was a commercial hit. Vijay & Jayam Raja who are known for remaking films (from other regional languages) that become a huge success are said to be a good combo for this Kabir Khan directed Ek Tha Tiger, produced under the banner of Yash Raj, which featured Katrina Kaif in the lead.

We hear that Raja wants Vijay, as he feels that Ilayathalapthy will do justice to Salman’s role in this action-romantic-thriller, which talks about the life of a secret agent, who is on a mission. In fact, reports also suggest that Vijay is the favorite choice of many directors.

Ek Tha Tiger though got mixed reviews from critics for not having a very appealing story-screenplay, the film drew a huge crowd on the Independence Day release (though being a Wednesday) and the success continued over the weekend. It has made huge Box Office collections and is said to have collected Rs 100 plus crore in 5 days in India.

Srk look as Army officer Samar in Yash Chopra’s untitled film

Shahrukh Khan has been shooting non-stop for Yash Chopra’s untitled film. He has two beautiful heroines Kartrina Kaif and his Rab Ne Banadi Jodi Anushka Sharma to romance in this romantic saga.

The film’s first look teaser was unveiled only a few days back, even before the film has been given a title. The film’s music score by AR Rahman and is for the first time that he has collaborated with the YRF banner. The lyrics are penned by Gulzar. The film is expected to be a Diwali 2012 release.

The latest news is that SRK plays an army officer named Samar in this flick. His look in the film where he sports the stubble look ( the kind we have seen and drooled over him in Chak De), a black sunglasses with a rustic touch to it, wearing army officer’s uniform and rides a bike!

Actor Ajay Devgn & Tamannah's Himmatwala First Look

It looks like Tamannah will have to answer more scribes that she hasn't bid an adieu to Tamil films, now that the first look poster of her Bollywood film with Ajay Devgn has been unveiled!
Directed by Sajid Khan, the film is a remake of 'Himmatwala' that released in 1983. The posters introduce the cast as the beautiful and the brave (Tamannah and Ajay) and calls the film a blockbuster already. While Tamannah is quite desi (Bollywood style) in one poster, she is quite hot in an other.

Himmatwala Posters From Tomorrow

Himmatwala, the remake of the yesteryear smash hit of the same name, is progressing fast and steady. The much-awaited poster of this film will be released tomorrow, states official sources in the tinsel town.

This Ajay Devgan and Tamanah starrer is directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani.

It may be mentioned here that Jeetendra and Sri Devi played the lead pair in the original version which was released in the 1983. The remake is expected to hit the screens in 2013.

Actor Asin and Kareena jointly rule Bollywood’s 100 Cr club!

Last weekend was memorable for Asin. Her new release Bol Bachchan touched Rs102 Crore and joined Bollywood’s exclusive Rs 100 Cr club. For the girl from Kochi it is nothing new as Bol Bachchan is her fourth film after Ghajini, Ready and Housefull 2 to join the elite club.

Asin now shares the top spot with Kareena Kapoor who too has four films that figure in the 100 Cr club- 3 Idiots, Golmaal 3, Bodyguard and RA One. Asin in an earlier interview had said: “I am not bothered about numbers, I am happy that it happened with my films. It is not that I was expecting it to happen; it is not in my hands. I enjoyed doing my part”.

Today Asin, is the biggest success story of a girl who made her debut in south Indian films making it big in Bollywood. Down south she has an awesome strike rate at the box-office. Nearly 90 % of the films which she has acted in Tamil and Telugu over a period of five years were super hits.

In Bollywood out of five releases (Ghajini, London Dreams,Ready, Housefull 2 & Bol Bachchan) only one has failed. Today four of her films feature in the Rs 100 Cr club, which is simply amazing.
Asin in an exclusive interview to PTI said: “I am happy I have come this far here (Bollywood) on my own without godfathers, grandfathers or millionaire boyfriends. It is rare for an artist to get acceptance by the north as well as the south audiences, and I have thankfully managed that.”

Her detractors say that she had “oodles of luck at the box-office.” But industry pundits believe that it is a combination of making the right choices of commercial films, hard work and fiery determination to reach the top. Asin is still one of the hottest actors in the endorsement circuit, a proof that she has tremendous reach and goodwill among the millions.

Director Prabhu Deva Gets Shruti on-Board

The news is official! Shruti Haasan has signed a Bollywood flick. There was a buzz that the pretty actress may join the star cast of Prabhu Deva’s next. It has now been confirmed that she will play the female in the film to be directed by Prabhu.

Shruti will be paired opposite Girish Taurani, a debutant. The film, which has not been titled yet, will be produced by Tips Kumar Taurani.

Shruti’s foray into Bollywood was with the Bollywood film Luck and she has been successfully concentrating in the regional languages as well. With Prabhu Deva having back-to-back hits in Hindi – Wanted and Rowdy Rathore – movie buffs are expecting a lot more from him!

Actor Rajesh Khanna No More

It is indeed a saddest day in the history of Indian cinema with Bollywood’s first Superstar Rajesh Khanna passing away today. The end of this 69-year-old came at his residence. Rajesh Khanna has been suffering from health issues for long and was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. He was discharged from the hospital recently after his health condition improved. Unfortunately, Rakesh Khanna’s health suffered a major setback today morning and his end came.

Rajesh Khanna leaves behind his estranged wife and actress Dimple Kapadia , whom he divorced in 1984, and the couple has two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna out of the wedlock.

The entire film industry is bereaving his death and film personalities are making a beeline to his residence to pay their last respects.

Everyone might be raving about the way Sonakshi Sinha has presented herself in the song, Govinda… for Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God!, but there’s a little secret behind that ‘uninhibited me’ look of hers!

We hear that Sonakshi was able to flaunt her dabangg self onscreen, all thanks to Prabhu Dheva.

A little birdie tells us, “Even though Sona was brilliant when it came to dancing, she was a little withdrawn with her expressions. And Prabhu Dheva, who choreographed the song, was not too pleased with it. So, to get the jhakas Sonakshi on screen, he mixed bhaang to her drink. And needless to say, the Shotgun Jr shed her inhibition and danced like never before. When PD told her later about what he’d done, Sona didn’t know how to react!”
