Manikantan speaks about his latest venture
Manikantan will be handling the camera for the film to be directed Manirathinam. He will be handling the camera for both the Tamil and Hindi versions. Manikantan says,” I am presently in Pollachi for the shooting of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Billoo Barber. After this I will be handling camera for Manirathinam’s film which is to be made in Tamil and Hindi.
The Hindi version will have Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role while the Tamil version will have Vikram in the lead role. Aishwarya Rai is the leading lady in both the films. The shooting of the film will commence at the end of next month. Currently Manirathinam is busy in selecting the locations for this film. I had already worked for him in Yuva and Aayudha Ezuthu. He had called me to work for his film Guru but due to my prior commitment with Om Shanthi Om I was not able to give my consent. Now I have got the chance to work with him. We have decided to complete the shooting within 6 months. I was not able to work in Tamil films for a long time since I was busy with Hindi films for the past five years.
Now because of Manirathinam I have got the opportunity to work in a Tamil film. Much importance is given to extravagance then story in Hindi films whereas in Tamil films story has its prominence. So the cameraman can use his creativity to visually present the film. I will use this opportunity to prove my mettle.”
