As a follow-up to the arrest of Vaiko made by Tamil Nadu police for provocative speeches with regard to the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, directors Seeman and Ameer have also been arrested today. The directors were under the radar of police officials ever since they made fiery speeches condemning the Sri Lankan government during the Rameshwaram protests, which was reported by us earlier.
Although no complaints have been registered against them, officials have been scrutinizing their speeches and were contemplating on the sections of law under which the arrests could be made. They are arrested under sections 124(a), 13/1(b), 153(a) of IPC and taken to Ramanathapuram to be produced at a court in the district.
