Director Bala's Naan Kadavul, after much hassles, is finally ready to hit the screens in January 2009. The film, which had been in the making for over a couple of years, is now undergoing the post production process. Sources close to the film unit expect that Bala, the film, the lead characters – Arya and Pooja and/or cinematographer Arthur Wilson could
go on to win the National Award. It is believed that it is keeping this mind that Bala has resisted using Digital Intermediate technology. According to the National Awards Rules, films employing the DI technology are exempted from the national awards.
