Vikram celebrated the New Year with 40 children who had undergone various surgeries. These surgeries which took place in Ramachandra Hospital were sponsored by All India Chiyaan Vikram Fans Association. About 55 cases were identified for financial support. Some of the children did not survive but 43 children and youngsters are now healthy.
The children who had come with their families to spend an evening with Vikram posed for pictures with the actor, received toys and gifts and played with balloons during the celebration. Apart from fundraising for the surgeries, the fans association also networked with blood donors. The children and youngsters are from poor families across Tamil Nadu.
