Young Vishnu is all set to be introduced to Tamil Cinema audiences through the film 'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu' which is directed by Susindran and produced by Anand Chakravarthy of Image Creations. One of those rare youngsters who made it to cinema sans a filmi background, Vishnu found favor because of his sporting abilities.
Vishnu has been a cricket player for ten years and has even vice captained the Tamilnadu State team. Since the film's script was all about the life of a Kabadi player, the think-tank behind the film was keen on showcasing a sportsman.
When asked as to how the acting bug bit him, a matter of fact Vishnu said, 'I was advised bed rest after suffering a fracture. Since I didn't have much to do but just laze in bed, I started watching a lot of movies. It was at that time that I started entertaining thoughts of being an actor'.
'Even after recovering, I knew that I couldn't get back to active cricket due to the intensity of the injury and so I started preparing to be an actor. I went about meeting a lot of people but nothing seemed to happen. It was about this time that Anand Chakravarthy (a senior from school) got back to India from the United States and wanted to produce a film. This association proved to be fruitful'.
Vishnu is very confident about the film's fortunes as he opines there are loads of emotions, comedy, interesting sporting sequences and a great storyline. The young debutant is all praise for director Susindran for his professional ability in keeping everyone comfortable and yet extracting the best out of everyone.
'We were a group of seven and we had to play a lot of Kabadi. None of us were actually Kabadi players and so had to train a lot. The whole experience was like going back to college' said Vishnu.
Vishnu had many good things to say about co-star Saranya Mohan and stressed on the point that he learnt a lot from her.
'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu' is expected to release this month and has been shot extensively in and around Chennai although many rural sequences have also been canned. The film's music album by Selvaganesh is already making it big with soothing music.
