Suhasini Mani Ratnam is thrilled and happy over A R Rahman's nominations for the Oscars. Obviously, because she had seen him at very close quarters since the 'Mozart of Madras' made his debut in 'Roja'. Also, the prolific music composer was introduced by no lesser a person than Mani Ratnam himself.
Suhasini Mani Ratnam expressed confidence that Rahman's work in 'Slumdog Millionaire' has everything in it to claim the Oscars. 'It's quite a fresh composition, which is soothing and very Indian. It is a great work by Rahman. I was expecting the Oscar to come Rahman's way long before. I though his work in Shekar Kapoor's 'Elizabeth 2' was so stunning that he would win it. But the moment seems to have arrived with 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
Several prominent film personalities including music composer Srikanth Deva, director Radha Mohan, actor Prakashraj, and actress Trisha expressed confidence that Rahman would make India proud by bringing home the coveted Oscar Awards.
