No school, no IPL. Just more films

Filmmakers are perhaps as excited as the students about the onset of summer and vacations. And with the no IPL matches happening within the country, it promises to be an ideal time to release movies which are meant for the family audiences as a whole and for kids, in special.
‘Pattalam’, director Rohan Krishna’s film to hit the theatres yesterday, released on the hope of cashing in the vacation time for students. And more films are sure to follow, making April a special month, despite the Tamil New Year being shifted to January.
One of the first films to hit the screen will be Surya’s ‘Ayan’. Distributed and released by Sun Pictures, it promises to be an action packed extravaganza, and Tamannah, who wowed with ‘Padikkadhavan’, pairs with the hero. This is one must watch for the youngsters, with songs already popular on radio.
Then there’s ‘Sarvam’, which was also said to hit screens on March 27. The release date, for reasons unknown, has been postponed, and the film is finally slated for release this month. The film stars Arya and Trisha in the lead, and is an action thriller directed by Vishnuvardhan.
