The Kerala Theatre Owners’ Association has decided to close down the theatres from April 14th if the Kerala Government refuses to permit them to increase the ticket rates. According to the president of the Association, the air conditioned theatres must be allowed to increase Rs. 5 whereas for the non air conditioned theatres it should be Rs. 3.
But the Kerala government is in no mood to allow the rise in rates. With the deadlock continuing over this issue, the Theatre Owners’ Association has issued an ultimatum that they would close down the theatres from April 14th if there is no go ahead signal from the government.
