Audio release of the upcoming flick, Alaiyodu Vilayadu, was held at the Producers’ Council premises last evening. The event saw a host of celebrities vouching for producer Rajpreeth, who was associated with cinematographer Ashok Kumar during his heydays. Rajpreeth had worked for hits like Alaigal Oyvadillai and the likes. He now dons the producer’s cap for Alaiyodu Vilayadu. His contemporaries including Bhagyaraj, Suhasini and Parthiban reminisced their
early days nostalgically at the event. The audio was released by Bhagyaraj and received by Prathiban and Suhasini.
Speaking at the event, Suhasini teasingly mentioned that she had not met a single bad guy in the industry despite the popular myth that cinema is all things bad. She added, between her trademark grin, that Rajpreeth was the only bad guy. “I knew him from the days I entered cinema and that was when we started searching cinema,” she said.
Parthiban went nostalgic about how, true to the words in Quran, Bhagyaraj’s name is embossed in the food he consumes intending that his Guru was the reason behind his success in cinema. He also revealed that Rajpreeth helped him a lot in his debut directorial venture Pudiya Paadai.
Bhagyaraj, in his address, mentioned that Rajpreeth is the best disciple of Ashok Kumar, the way Parthiban is to him. He also wished success for Alaiyodu Vilayadu adding that such small-scale movies should reap commercial success.
The event saw participation from Bhagyaraj, Parthiban, Suhasini, Snehan, S Ve Shekar, Rama Narayanan, Srinivasan and Siva Sakthi Pandiyan.
