Bobo’s fresh look for Tamil Hip-hop

‘Kulir 100°’ brought a breezy change in terms of refreshing youthful music, thanks to Bobo Sasi. Son of Murali and nephew of Deva, Bobo Sasi weaved Spanish rap into Tamil melodies. It was received by instant appreciation and Bobo’s name soared high among the music industry.
Surprise lay at every corner and this came true for this creative music director. Few years back, he had composed a Tamil rap for his sister who was studying in college. At that time, he never knew that his attempt will be heard by the ‘Kulir 100°’ director, Anita Udeep. After that, all is history.
Talking about ‘Kulir 100°’, he experimented with different genres in music. He was impressed with a Malaysian band, Boomerang, who used to sing Tamil hip-hop songs and brought them here to work for the movie songs. Besides them, he used Spanish rap music and the outcome was a series of fabulous song tracks.
Bobo Sasi also has a band of his own, named ‘Thugs Laws’ that believes to take Tamil songs to a different level. Talking about the band, he says, “We will be primarily performing Tamil hip-hop and rap. We want to bring a refreshing change to the Tamil hip-hop scene. It has many takers.”
The music director likes to work on a relaxed pace and not interested to work in a hurry. He has earned two Telugu projects with one being ‘Thakida Thakida’ – Bhoomika Chawla and Ajay Gadu movie.
Well, we are all ears for his next album!
