‘Achchamundu! Achchamundu!’ Rocks in US

Arun Vaidyanathan can’t ask for more. His directorial venture ‘Achchamundu! Achchamundu!’ has created a sensation in US, besides here in south. An excited Arun said, “I am thrilled by how the Indian American audiences have received the film so far, and US Consul General wanting to see my film was the icing on the cake.” Already the movie was received with immense response by the Shanghai audience.
‘Achchamundu! Achchamundu!’ which was released on 17 of this month in North America, was received with thunderous applauds. The movie revolves around a South Indian Tamil immigrant family living in the US and how they try to sync in their Indian culture with the American lifestyle. “Being a Tamilian myself, I have tried to portray the life of Tamil immigrants living in North America and I would always keep their sensibilities in mind,” said the director.
Even the producers were equally happy at the unexpected success. “There are a lot of novel elements in this film that we think the audiences would appreciate if they watched it in theaters. For example, the DTS 5.1 Surround Sound and the most advanced technology of Digital Cinema Projection systems including English subtitles would surely enhance the viewing pleasure for audiences,” said two of the co-producers, Ms. Asma Hashmi and Ramzan Lakhani.
Bannered under Project East West – ALLC ‘Achchamundu! Achchamundu!’ has Prasanna, Sneha and Emmy Award winner John Shena in the lead roles. This psychological thriller opened in five centers including New Jersey, California, Illinois, Texas, and is schedule to open in Michigan and Ontario, Canada on July 24th, 2009.
