Sree Devi is donning the role of Dhanush’s mother in law in the film titled Maappilai. Director Suraj who directed films Thalainagaram, Maruthamalai and Padikadhavan is now directing a film titled Maappilai.
Maappilai is the remake of the super hit film which had Rajnikanth, Amala and Sri Vidhya in the cast. Director Suraj while speaking about this film said,” I directed Dhanush in the film Padikadhavan which was the title of the film Rajni acted.
When Dhanush spoke to the media at that time said that he will act in only one more film which has Rajni title in future and after that film he will not act in the films bearing Rajni’s title.That only film is Maappilai.
Telugu popular actress Hansika Motwani is pairing with Dhanush. I have asked Sree Devi to do the role of the mother in law which Sri Vidhya did in the original version. I told her the story. She said she liked it very much.
She is very much eager to do a film in Tamil after so many years. The fight which takes place between the son in law and the mother in law is the story of this film. I have taken only the plot of the story and prepared a totally new script. Comedy will be given prominence in this film also like my other films. The shooting of the film will commence in the month of September. I have planned to release this film on April 14th.”
