Peranmai which had Jayam Ravi in the lead was directed by Jananathan. This film is now being dubbed in English.
When asked Jananathan about it, he said,” There is a good market only for Tamil films in the foreign countries. I have planned to dub this film in English and release it. When the producer agreed for this we started the dubbing work.
We have trimmed the film by 90 minutes. Mostly Hollywood films only will be dubbed. For the time a Tamil film is being dubbed in English and released in Hollywood. This film is doing well in all the theatres in Tamil Nadu.Most of the hit Tamil films will be released in 7 theatres for 10 days. But Peranmai was released in 17 theatres. Even after crossing 25 days this film is running successfully in 12 theatres.”
