Burglars broke into the house of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M G Ramachandran (MGR) at Ramavaram garden and decamped with costly items like gold jewellery, silver utensils and gift articles, estimated to be worth Rs 3 lakh.Geetha, adopted daughter of MGR’s wife, V N Janaki, and her husband Madhu Mohan were living on the first floor of the house, police official said.The couple was away in their native place in Kerala, while their just married son Anand, a software engineer working in Australia was holidaying at his father-in-law's place, Cuddalore, when the theft took place.The burglars had broken the window pane of the bedroom and gained entry into the house.When Geetha returned from Kerala, she was shocked to find all wedding gifts that included silver tumblers and plates, gold coins and wristwatches and cash missing.Madhumohan lodged a complaint with the police, Nandambakam police is investigating, on home invasion.N Hariharan, crime inspector, Nandambakkam police station, said, “Two people may have been involved in the robbery. We suspect that it could be someone who knows the place well. We have taken fingerprints and we are investigating.”
