Director Rajakumaran along with his actress wife Devayani and two daughters Iniya and Priyanka came to Gobichettipalayam. He stayed in a lodge and left at 9 in the morning to Sandhyapalayam to worship his family deity at Ayyanarappan Temple.
There they offered their prayers and also fulfilled their vows by tonsuring their younger daughter’s Priyanka head. While leaving Gobichettipalayam director Rajakumaran spoke to the media. He said,” The shooting of the film Thirumathi Tamizh in which I have done the lead role has been completed.
Nobody has so far given respect for Tamil language. Our beloved Chief Minister is giving Rs 7 Lakhs as subsidy for the people who title their film in Tamil. The whole Tamil film industry is grateful to him for this. The reason for not giving films for the least 6 years is that I have spent my time with my children.
I have become a good father. My wife Devayani also takes care of my children very well. At times my mother also use to from Andhiyur to take care of them. Devayani is currently acting in a Malayalam film Sarkar Colony. We are not able to make films in villages like before.
The reason is there are no strong stories. Now the Government has allotted 90 acres of land for building of a studio. Once the studio is ready, there will be no need to go out for shooting. Because of this the expenses will be cut down and their will be earnings for the Government also.”
