Only 3 films release per week: Ramanarayanan


After winning the President post of Tamil Films Producers Association, for the third time, D Ramanarayanan has announced that only 3 films would be released per week.

D Ramanarayanan and his supporters won the contest for 2010-2012. The freshly elected members were sworn in last evening at the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce in Chennai.

Prominent personalities like AVM Saravanan, AVM Murugan, Muktha Srinivasan, Nadigar Sangam President Sarath Kumar, Film Chamber President Kalyan,
FEFSI chief VC Guhanathan, and L Suresh, President of Film Federation of India, participated in the function and conveyed their wishes to the elected members.

Ramanarayanan spoke on the occasion:

“You have elected us because of your xpectations and confidence in us. We will continue to strive for the good of Tamil film producers. The newly elected committee has taken a few decisions. Small film producers are struggling without theaters to release their films. To help them, we propose that only 3 films be released per week. This will take effect from today.

Very senior producers who are being given Rs.2500 per month, will from now on, receive Rs.3000 per month. Compensation for families of late producers, has been raised from Rs.1 lakh to 2 lakhs and a sum of Rs.50,000 will be given as help for the wedding of a son or daughter of a producer".
