Shriya cast opposite Karthi

We assume Shriya Saran must be on cloud nine for the actress has been roped in to play Karthi’s lead lady in his forthcoming flick ‘Saguni.’ A hunt was on and top notch damsels of Kollywood and Bollywood were considered for this role but finally, it was Shriya Saran who bagged it.

Luck did not favour the actress throughout 2010 as all her four releases, ‘Kutty,’ ‘Jaggubhai,’ ‘Uthamaputhiran’ (cameo role) and ‘Chikku Bhukku’ were all close to box-office disasters.

But it looks like she has taken more care in choosing the right and apt scripts this year. Her forthcoming flick, ‘Rowthiram’ with Jeeva is already much-awaited among Tamil movie buffs.

Sources close to the unit say, the movie has two heroines cast opposite Karthi and Praneetha of Kannada movie fame will be making her debut in Kollywood through this project. It is also said that Radhika Sarathkumar will be playing a pivotal role in ‘Saguni.’
