Vanitha Vijayakumar arrested!

Vanitha Vijayakumar, daughter of actor Vijayakumar has been arrested! She has been in the news following an ugly altercation with members of her family that resulted in arrest warrants being issued variously for her father, Vijayakumar, step-brother Arun Vijay, and later her second husband Anandaraj. Apparently, the tussle happened following a bitter argument with Vijayakumar allegedly detaining her son Vijay Srihari, whose father is Akash her first husband.
Following this drama, Akash petitioned successfully for custody of his son, and the Madras High court granted him custody for 5 days a week with the stipulation that the child be returned to the mother for the duration of the weekend. Vanitha claims that Akash has ignored the ruling and is not allowing her to see the nine year old boy.
Vanitha met with the Virugambakkam police and lodged a complaint but she claims no action was taken. She then staged a protest outside Akash’s house declaring a fast unto death if her son was not returned immediately to her. The police then arrived on the scene and arrested her for being a public nuisance and disturbing the peace.
