Director-producer Lingusamy has hinted that his upcoming directorial venture Vettai would have the irresistible ‘Rajini effect’. The director, who has made successfully films like Anandam, Run, Sandakozhi and Paiyaah to his credit, is presently making Vettai which has Madhavan, Aarya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in lead roles.
It is strongly rumoured in Kollywood that the script of Vettai would have the essence of the director’s earlier films and would also have the resemblance of a ‘Rajini-starrer’. When queried about this rumour, Lingusamy said that Vettai is nothing but the ‘coming together’ of all of his successful films in the past.
“Vettai has all the necessary ingredients which go into making a commercial pot-boiler. It has equal doses of action, comedy, romance and sentiment which have always been liked by the masses. Right from my childhood, I have grown up watching superstar Rajinikanth’s several super-hit movies. As such, I have a fair idea as to what the masses would like to watch on screen.
“Whenever I write the script for a film, I used to put myself into the shoes of the fans and the audience and would set the screenplay as per their liking. I have followed the same trend for Vettai too. I’m sure it’d be loved and patronized by the audience in a big way,” concludes Lingusamy.
