Slimly-built Bengali beauty Richa Gangopadhyay is in for a twin-treat in Tamil films. The actress is all set for a grand debut in not one but two films, each of them opposite the leading ‘young guns’ in the Tamil film industry. A popular actress in Tollywood, Richa has bagged a couple of prestigious projects in Tamil.
She is the heroine of Simbu’s upcoming Osthi directed by Dharani and is also pairing up opposite Dhanush in his Mayakkan Enna directed by his elder brother Selvaraghavan. Both the films are likely to do well at the box-office, observe trade pundits. Osthi is the Tamil remake of the Bollywood hit film Dabbangg while Mayakkam Enna is the film re-uniting brothers Dhanush and Selvaa.
Reminiscing on her past, Richa recalls her adolescent days spent in United States when she took part in various beauty pageant contests. She proudly recalls how mightily excited she was when she won the ‘Miss Michigan’ title. Winning the beauty pageant served as a perfect platform for Richa to make her foray into the world of modeling when she landed up in India.
Tollywood was obviously happy to rope in Richa to do a few films there. Thanks to the popularity earned through her Telugu films, she has now got the offer to pair up opposite Simbu and Dhanush in Tamil films. Even while recalling her days in the U.S., Richa doesn’t forget New Delhi, her city of birth, and Coimbatore, where she was brought up during her school-days.
