Popular comedian Vaiyapuri, who had been a regular in several Kamal Haasan films in the recent past, is bubbling with joy for he is cast in a key role in Mani Ratnam's movie.
Interestingly, he has been cast to do a transgender role in Mani Ratnam's 'Ashokavanam' AKA Ravana'. Interestingly, Vaiyapuri had donned a similar role in Vijay starrer 'Thulladha Manamum Thullum' before.
According to reports, Vaiyapuri has decided to act in the role soon after he received a call from the ace filmmaker. He is highly banking on this character, it is said, as he feels that it would prove a major turning point in his acting career.
At present the crew of the film is busy shooting in Madhya Pradesh. Priyamani's wedding scene and a fight sequence between Vikram and Prithviraj has been shot recently, says reports.
