It’s a compelling situation for all these leading actors who’ve been stressed out with continuous disasters at box office. Well, for Surya he has been at successful side as his ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ was a good hit. But for Vijay, his ‘Kuruvi’ and ‘Villu’ have been terrible ones as they were sweeped out of the box office very sooner.
Ajith’s ‘Aegan’ was a flop and his Asal would release only for Diwali. So, his formula of one film per year should work out wonders this time for him.
Vikram has been taking long time intervals between each of his films. Indeed, ‘Bheema’ was supposed to release in 2006 and got postponed to 2008 with a flop show. Now after 16months, his ‘Kandasamy’ would release for May 1 and his bilingual film ‘Ashokavanam-Raavana’ are his hopes. Surya is sure about scoring high as he has three films for this year. His ‘Ayan’ hits the screens for next month while ‘Aadhavan’ directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar will release in mid of 2009 and his ‘Mogamudi’ with Mysskin is slated for yearend release.
Vijay’s ‘Vettaikaran’ may get released for Diwali and again there would be Ajith-Vijay clash. But it’s Aarya who’s on safe bet as his Naan Kadavul’s success would take him surely to greater heights even if his films aren’t worthy so. But Vishnuvardhan’s ‘Sarvam’ is expected to make high waves in box office that will release next month.
The yearend will witness Rajnikanth’s ‘Endhiran’ while Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thalaivan Irukiran’ too would make its way on the screens during same occasion.
