Vijayakanth’s Mariyadhai and Vikraman’s award

With the talkie portions of the Vijayakanth starrer Mariyadhai completed on February 15th, the team held a press-meet at the Aruna Inn in Chennai today. Vijayakanth, director Vikraman, actresses Meena and Ambika were present at the event. Surprisingly, at the press meet, the media was not allowed to pose any politics-related query to Vijayakanth. However, the buzz is that Mariyadhai was completed soon due to the impending parliamentary elections.

Speaking at the function, Vijayakanth said that Mariyathai will be a thorough family entertainer that will be liked by people of all age groups. Though he equated the film to Vaanathai Pola, Vijayakanth was quick to add that the storylines are absolutely different.
Vikraman said that the Mariyathai will get the award that he missed out for Vaanathai Pola. Vikraman also mentioned that the movie’s rights were procured by Raj TV group who already own the rights of his previous super hits including Vaanatha Pola and Pudu Vasantham.
On her working experience in Mariyathai, Ambika said that her role is very unique and she had done it with total involvement. Speaking about her experience, Meena said she enjoyed working in the film.
There are just three songs and one fight that need to be shot, Vikraman said. The unit will pack off to Australia to film all the three songs.
The event saw attendance from kingpins in Raj TV’s management, Amma creations Siva, Ramesh Kanna and Sampath other than the cast and the crew.
