It's said even the tapes of a cot in Kamban's house will spout poetry. So why can't the great poet's son sing poems too? Both Vairamuthu's sons are poets.
There's nothing surprising in their writing poems, but writing stories is a bit of a surprise. His younger son Kapilan has become a story writer. He makes his debut by writing the story, screenplay and dialogues. For the film, he may change his name to Ponmaniyin Selvan.
To be directed by Senthil, the film has not yet been titled. The lead pair is also not yet finalized. Kapilan will appear in a guest role in a few scenes. Music is by GV Prakash and cinematography by Ravishankar.
It's to be mentioned that the father is not writing songs in the son's film. Lyrics are by someone called Seshadri. Vairamuthu usually gripes that he does not get opportunity to write lyrics for films by directors and composers who are close to him. Whether Vairamuthu has let it be that this film is a play for youngsters and stayed away, is something only he and his son would know.
