The latest to join the list of behind-the-screen film artists who turn into actors is Pa. Vijay. The ace lyricist has donned the greasepaint for Gnabagangal, a film which has a very good and different storyline. Sree Devika, who has acted in Ramakrishna, Anbevaa and is acting in Sarithram, is the film’s heroine.Gnabagangal is not the first film for Pa. Vijay, who was supposed to debut in Thai Kaviyam, a film launched by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi a year ago. But even before it could be completed, he got the offer of playing lead role of Gnabagangal. Introduced in Gnanapazham in 1996, Pa. Vijay has written more than 1200 songs for 600 films! Interestingly, he is perhaps the only actor who had won a National Award even before he became an actor! Vijay has won National Award for the song “Ovoru Pookalume” of Autograph.
Jeevan, who debuted in Kollywood as a cinematographer through Kokki, is the director of this Gnabagangal film. He has already directed Mayilu.
