Namitha who hypnotized the masses with her glamour is now donning the role of a police officer in the Telugu film Desha Drokhi. She has reduced her weight by 7 kilos by doing rigorous exercises.
She is also learning fighting and boxing. This film is remake of the yester year Telugu hit film Vaijayanthi IPS which had Vijaya Shanthi in the lead role. There is doubt whether Namitha will be on par with Vijaya Shanthi who donned the role of a police officer.
So extra efforts are being taken to make her act effectively. When asked Namitha whether she will be able to act like Vijaya Shanthi, she said,” This is the first time I am acting in a police officer role. Many are asking me whether I can act like Vijaya Shanthi.
This question angers me. There is no necessity for me to act like her. I will act on my own. I hate when they say I should act like this actress and that actress. Kiran Bedi is the role model for me in the police department. I am acting in this film keeping her on my mind.
In cinema there are so many actors who had acted in police officer roles. I will not act in this role after seeing their films. I do not like to e compared with any other actresses. I have done glamour roles in many film but I have decided to concentrate on good roles like police officer etc.”
