Kamal, Gautham, Rajini and KS Ravikumar in tricky situations

Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru is the name of the film that is directed by Nandhini, who was an assistant to director Priya. The title indicates the hero who gawks all the time and the heroine who is twitchy all through the film. This film’s audio was launched at a function held in Chennai’s Satyam Cineplex. Noted film personalities like Kamal Haasan, Gautham Menon and KS Ravi Kumar participated in the event. Those present also shared their experiences in situations where they were forced to gawk (Thiru Thiru) and be fidgety (Thuru Thuru).
Speaking at the function, Gautham Menon said that he remembered gawking at the age of nineteen when he visited his girlfriend’s house and her mom made a sudden entry. The director, however, refused to disclose further details. He also recalled that while directing Vettayadu Vilayadu, he wanted Kamal Haasan to re-shoot a scene according to his specifications. The director after much hesitation brought it to Kamal’s notice that he wanted the scene his way to which the actor agreed and asked him to act it out. The director recalls this was a situation in which he was restive. Gautham said that all his films since then have been moving on a faster pace.
Kamal Haasan said that while shooting for a scene in Devar Magan he felt that Sivaji Ganesan could do much better. Without a second thought, the actor mentioned it to the late actor, who took it in good stride and completed the scene according to Kamal’s input.
In yet another situation, also involving Sivaji Ganesan, director KS Ravi Kumar said that while shooting for Padayappa he could not find a place to smoke with Sivaji being on the sets all through the day. On finding a secluded spot in the art room, Ravi Kumar entered it only to find Superstar Rajinikanth smoking. When Sivaji enquired about the cigarette smell on the sets, the gawky director shifted the blame on a colleague.
