After huge expectation Kamal Hassan and Mohanlal featuring “Unnai Pol Oruvan” hits screen. The movie is a remake of theblockbuster Hindi movie “A Wednesday” which the director remade into as “Unnai Pol Oruvan” associated with Raaj Kamal International’s banner. The director had made quite adjustments to the original version to suit the Tamil audiences but anyway director managed to add more scenes of the original version.
The story begins when Mohanlal (Raghava Maraar Chennai city police commissioner) got a threatening call from an Anonymous caller (Kamal Hassan) who kept five bombs around some of the important places around Chennai city but the Police Commissioner fails to believe but soon the cops find bags with RDX bombs at the Anna Salai police station believing that the caller is serious for his RDX bomb venture. The caller insisted the Police Officer to free five dreadful terrorists.Now the things changed suddenly not only for the City Commissioner but also for Anuja Iyer (TV Reporter), young cops , a IIT computer hacker and the whole department of police. While the anonymous deals get accomplished there are some more shocking for everyone involved in this mission. The script suggests a life of a common man who pushed beyond his patience results the consequences??? The movie suggests “To Kill Terrorism., Terrorism is the best way”.
Mohanlal and Kamal Hassan prove their superiority in screen at every scene they appear. The background score of the movie can be made better than the actual. The two police officers and Anuja Iyer as a press reporter in the movie perfect choice of artist selection.
After watching Universal Hero Kamal Hassan in “Dasavatharam” it is hard to sit and watch this movie as there is no scope of acting in this movie. The real star of the movie is mobile phones as it transmitted information of “Five Bombs around the City”. Universal Hero is zeroed as his movies are known for class but for real Kamal Fans the movie is a disaster as it showcase Kamal Hassan sitting in newly constructing building on the whole film. The movie script has more scope to develop to suit Universal Hero but failed. The only good thing about the movie is that its lengths only 110mins so as an audiences we can watch and come out of theatre quickly. I would suggest watching it on TV.
On the whole the movie gets you a reaction of common man whose feelings turned into a terror attack.
