Comedy, glamour, fight, punch dialog – you ask for it and Aarumugam has it. Director Suresh Krishna has worked with Bharath this time and has remade his own yesteryear hit Annamalai.
The story is simple. In a sentence its of a man seeking justice for the injustice done to him. Aarumugam(Bharath) is a Idli seller on the streets and his best friend Karthik(Sathya) is a affluent man who has Malini(Ramya Krishnan) a business tycoon as his sister.
Aarumugam also has a land in the city where his mother(Seetha) is buried. Malini wants to get that grave out of Aarumugam’s hands and plays on all tricks possible to get it from him at some point is also successful in separting the thick buddies.
Aarumugam vows revenge and works on becoming rich all the while romancing Yamini(Priyamani). Some of the numbers by Deva has peppy beat and will be a hit with the masses. Director Suresh Krisha seems to have played it safe with the story this time. Bharath plays his part well with romance, fight and emotional scenes.
On the whole Aarumugam is old wine in a new bottle.
