IT raids at Mohanlal-Mammootty's residences

The Income Tax department today raided multiple offices and residences of Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The raids are based on a tip off that the IT returns filed by the superstars were not directly proportionate to their income.

Mohanlal is currently shooting for a film in Rameshwaram and his statement is being recorded, while Mammootty is in Chennai.

Raids are currently on at Mammootty's production company Play House in Chennai. His houses in Chennai and Kochi are being raided too.


The IT raids are also underway in Kochi at superstar Mohanlal's production and distribution company - Max Labs and Ashirwad house. Mohanlal also has a film studio - Viesmaya cinemax, which is also being raided.

His residence in Trivandrum where his mother lives was raided too.Mohanlal also owns some hotels in Bangalore and had recently bought a plush house in the world's tallest tower, Burj Khalifa, in Dubai.

In a career spanning more than three decades, Mammootty has won the National Award thrice (Dr. Ambedkar (1988), Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Mathilukal (1989) and Vidheyan, Ponthan Mada (1993) and  has acted in more than 360 films. He has also done a few Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.

Mohanlal is regarded as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema and is a cultural icon  in Kerala. He was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema. He has won four National Film Awards and one of his notable roles were in Mani Ratnam's Iruvar and Ram Gopal Varma's Company.

  1. yes! if this people earned some money, all "political & bueraucrat dogs" begged & taken money from them. before, mohnlal & mamooty is questioned, all political dogs should be questioned. thier houses should be raided.
    income tax fools should know, film stars actual wealth is parked in Dubai & in US. that you can never finds out too.
