Three years after he played a tough, honest (why are honest cops always tough?) cop in his home production ‘Satyam’, actor Vishal returns to don the khakhi attire in his upcoming film titled ‘Vedi’. The film, which is Vishal’s home production and produced by elder brother Vikram Krishna’s G.K. Film Corporation, has been directed by Prabhudeva.
The pairing of Vishal and Sameera Reddy in the film has already become the ‘talk of the town’. Vishal, who turned 33 recently, was planning to share his experience of working in the film ‘Vedi’ on the evening of his birthday. However, he couldn’t do so as he had to throw a valedictory party to the crew members and technicians who worked relentlessly for the film for the past few months.
Remake of the Telugu super-hit ‘Souriyam’, Vedi would still be dubbed into Telugu as Vishal enjoys huge popularity among Andhraiites. Insiders say that Vishal’s cop act will be appreciated in the same manner the media and others liked Vikram’s portrayal of a cop in the film ‘Sami’. Vishal’s ‘Vedi’ is releasing on Deepavali this year along with Suriya’s ‘7am Arivu’ and Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’.
Vishal, who worked for some time as assistant director under ‘action king’ Arjun, debuted as hero in ‘Chellamae’ opposite Reemma Sen. Lingusamy’s ‘Sandakozhi’ put him firmly in the saddle of an ‘action hero’ and he followed it up with some hit films in ‘Thimiru’, ‘Malaikkottai’ and ‘Thamirabarani’. In between, he also did romantic films like ‘Thoranai’ and ‘Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai’.
Vishal might turn director soon after completing his next film opposite Trisha, which would be directed by Thiru. For the script, Vishal might use a story which is already ‘available’ with Saravanan, one of his aides!
