When asked by the media whether he will do a straight Tamil film, SRK replied: “ I would love to do a Tamil film but only in a dumb character because I do not know the language and it would be difficult to deliver dialogues with perfection.”
His casual use of the word ‘dumb’ irked one Jayashree, a differently-abled girl at the function who took objection to it, prompting him to apologise and correct himself.
SRK asked Jayashree for the right word to be used to refer people with speech impairment and she suggested he should use the word “mute”.
The actor immediately corrected himself and also apologised.
