Seeman Case : Vijayalashmi gives Photo talks, sms details to Police

Actress Vijayalakshmi has given details of telephone talks and SMS messages to the police as evidence for her complaint against Director Seeman. Police have registered this as evidences and decided to issue summon to Seeman to appear for inquiry.

Few More Days For Mankatha

‘Mankatha’ is rapidly progressing towards completion across the huge sets erected at Hyderabad Film City. The producers initially had plans of releasing the movie by mid of June, but had to postpone due to some circumstances. Venkat Prabhu is taking scrutinizing efforts over the project to ensure that the film comes out well with technical brilliance.

As per the reports closer to Cloud Nine Movies, the film will hit screens by second week of July as Venkat Prabhu and Dayanidhi Maaran are planning to release the film in Telugu as well.

Meanwhile Yuvan Shankar Raja is working on patch-up works for the remaining songs that will hit audio stores by end of June.

Reshmi says that she is learnt a lot by acting in Kanden

Kanden is the recently released film which has Santhanoo and Reshmi in the lead roles. Reshmi has acted well in the role called Narmada. When Reshmi who had come from Telugu to Tamil with confidence was asked about her Kanden experience, she said, "Director Mukhil will be very much attentive and concentrating at the shooting spots.
He will also expect good acting from the actors. At that point of time I use to get irritated. At the same time he will expect us to act in a single take. Sometimes he use to scold us. Because of this it was very difficult for me to act in the initial stages. Afterwards the assistant directors use to explain me that how I should act in a scene.
After this I did not have any difficulty while acting. I have learnt a lot of things by acting in Kanden. I am very confident that I will be getting lots of offers in Tamil."

Vikram to don dual roles

Vendhan is a film directed by Suseentharan which has Vikram in the lead role. For the first time, he is donning dual roles in this film. One is father role and the other one is son’s role.
Director Suseentharan who had earlier directed films like Venilla Kabadi Kulu, Naan Mahan Alla and Azhagar Sami Kuthirai is now directing a film which has Vikram in the lead role. The film is titled Vendhan. Deeksha Seth is pairing with Vikram.
Mithra who had acted in Kavalan is also starring in this film. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music. This film will be wholesome action oriented one. The official announcement regarding this film is to be made soon. The shooting of this film is to commence on 7th June.

Jayam Ravi celebrates Wedding Anniversary

Two years back on June 4, we had reported the star-studded glitzy affair of actor Jayam Ravi's wedding when he entered wedlock with Aarthi. The wedding was held at the Mayor Ramanathan Chettiyar auditorium.

In the mid of 2010, while shooting for 'Engeyum Kadhal' at Paris, the actor was blessed with a baby boy and he flew down to be with his wife and the family's lil' one during the happy occasion.

His friend and actor, Jeeva had tweeted him congratulating him jokingly, saying the former has been hooked and has cooked from two years... Jayam Ravi's page was flooded with wishes from fans.

Allu Arjun all praises for Bala

Allu Arjun, one of the top-notch heroes in Tollywood who is awe-struck after watching Bala's 'Avan Iva's Telugu make 'Vaadu Veedu's trailer at the movie's audio launch.

The star is always known for the open praises he doesn't hesitate to make after he watches a Kollywood flick and has many-a-times expressed his wish to work in K-town. He had also earlier expressed his desire to work with some of the leading directors in our industry and now after watching the trailer of the Telugu version of 'Vaadu Veedu,' he is all praises for Bala and become a fan of the latter!

We aren't surprised though, for there are only a few who cannot appreciate an initiative by Bala and his unique scripts and character portrayals remain etched in the hearts rather than the minds of the audience.

Allu Arjun even went to request Bala to direct films in Telugu and expressed his desire to work under this ace director.

The hero is known for his hard work among Tollywood folks, his dance movements have been trend-setters in the country and his stunt sequences and performance-oriented scenes have always been received well.

STR sings for a psychological-thriller

Silambarasan, Simbu or STR, as he is now dearly called by his fans is more than just another actor. He is one of those rare talents who can sing, dance, act, direct, write scripts and juggle quite efficiently between all these.

We had earlier told you a few months back that Simbu is lending the voice for the tracks of the Renigunta team's next venture – '18 Vayasu.'

Director of 'Reningunta', Paneerselvan and the lead, Johnny will be entertaining us with a psychological thriller they are working on, that is titled '18 Vayasu.'

Johnny plays a psychopath in this movie and sources say that various scenes are canned at dense forests and wild locations. Meanwhile, the audio launch for this flick will take place on a grand scale early this month.

Not just that, the movie also introduces to us a new music composer, Charles.

Nayanthara’s new decision

In the recent times, Nayanthara is avoiding functions and meeting media people. In a recent function which was held in Bangalore, Nayanthara who participated in this was called upon to speak but she bluntly refused.
Kollywood says that Prabhu Deva is the reason for this. There is news that Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara are going to get married soon and arrangements are being made in full swing. Prabhu Deva has instructed Nayanthara not to act in films after their marriage.
Kollywood sources say that Nayanthara will quit acting after her marriage.

Seeman's Lawyer refutes Vijayalakshmi's charges

Naam Tamilar party president Seeman's lawyer Chandrasekharan has refuted the charges of Actress Vijayalakshmi. She has given a complaint against Seeman in Chennai Police. Chandrasekharan who met the press said that, these are all false charges. Vijaylakashmi had met Seeman once to seek legal help to her elder sister. He forwarded her to me. Thats all. Bilingual to have heroes from Mollywood and Kollywood

Actor-director-producer Prathap Pothen is back with a bang after a long sabbatical. He has a script ready and the film is to be made in Tamil and Malayalam simultaneously. Prathap has said that he will sign up two heroes-one from Mollywood and the other from Kollywood-to play the lead roles in the film. He added that the selection process is going on and an announcement is due in a few days.
According to Prathap, this film will be based on the current trends and will be liked by the younger generation. More details like the title, heroines and cast and crew are likely to be made soon.

Will Vijay do a guest role in Mankatha?

A wild rumor had Tamil film fans going absolutely crazy. The news spread that Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay would be making a special guest appearance in Mankatha. Fans have often longed to see Thala and Thalapathy together on the big screen. When this news came out, it was felt that the producers had pulled off a brilliant casting coup.
Howwver, it turns out that there is no truth to these rumors. Producer, Dhayanidhi Alagiri has clarified that Vijay will not be seen in Mankatha and he said that the rumors should be ignored. Vijay Vasanth will be doing a small role in the film, and this started the rumors.

Sri Devika delivers a baby boy

Sri Devika delivered a baby boy at a private hospital in Palakkad recently. The actress was seen in films like Anbe Va, Gnabagangal, Rama Krishna, etc. Sri Devika married Rohit, a pilot based in Mumbai last year and settled for a quiet marital life.
Sources close to the actress say that Sri Devika and the baby are doing fine and will be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days.

Kovai celebrates KB

Tamil Nadu has been garnering attention on a national scale in the last month. First came the National Awards announcements, where a maximum share was bagged by our cinema folks in Tamil Nadu. Then came the announcement for the lifetime achievement award in the Indian film industry in the form of the Dada Sahib Phalke Award, and viola it was bagged by a veteran from Tamil Nadu, director K. Balachander!

The joy the film industry folks in Tamil Nadu knew no bounds.

Though there is no doubt that the technicians and actors in Tamil Nadu are very talented, it seems to be raining awards for the talented in the state. Post the announcement of the prestigious Dada Sahib Award for the veteran director, Kovai became the first district to cheer for the director, and the event was titled ‘Long Live K. Balachander.’

Organized by Shri Krishna Sweets, Coimbatore, a huge felicitation function was organized in Coimbatore.

Veterans in the field of Tamil cinema took part in the function. Also top guns of the district attended the event. Mrs. Kanagavalli of the Ganga Hospitals was present so was Mr. Krishnaraj Vanavaraayar of the Bharathi Vidhya Bhavan group of Institutions. From the film field actor Siva Kumar graced the occasion. ‘Kavingar’ Vairamuthu, director-actor Visu were among the esteemed guests present to felicitate the stalwart of Tamil cinema. At a time when films were known for the heroes, it was KB who changed the trend and people started watching films which had his tag.

Director Balachander walked in to the film industry after writing and directing stage plays. The director has touched all facets of acting be it in small screen or on the silver screen. He has also mastered direction, scripting, penning dialogues and other aspects of film making.

It was KB who brought the concept of soap operas in to the living rooms of the Tamil speaking audience through his serials ‘Premi’ and ‘Marma Desam’ which had the family folks glued to their TV sets.

It was yet another veteran who won the Dada Sahid Phalke Award – Chevalier Sivaji Ganeshan is the only other veteran to have won the Award for his contribution towards Tamil cinema. It is noteworthy that then too it was the people of Coimbatore who came forward the celebrate Sivaji Ganeshan after he won the Phalke award.

Shobana’s comeback through ‘Podaa Podi’

Silambarasan’s ‘Podaa Podi’ is getting bigger with each day. The Kollywood grapevine is now abuzz that this movie that assures to be an energy-packed romantic comedy also has Padma Shri winner Shobana playing a pivotal role.

After a long hiatus Shobana will make an appearance in Kollywood through this Simbu starrer. Sources also say that, she plays what she’s best at, a dance guru of the female lead, that is to say, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in this movie. It is said there will be important scenes that have Shobana dancing and that is one of the reasons, the yesteryear heartthrob accepted to do the film.

The last few scenes of the movie are now being shot at Pondicherry followed by a song sequence that will be shot at Spain, with which the movie will be complete.

We need not even mention of how good a dancer Simbu is; with all the buzz about the movie being a musical entertainer, it is only creating much hype. The movie will hit the screens this August. Looks like ‘Podaa Podi’ will sure live up to its tag line ‘the danda naka couple,’ and get us all onto our feet.

Suriya and Ajith @ war?

Ajith is awaiting the release of his film ‘Mankatha.’ Directed by Venket Prabhu this film is more special to the ‘Ultimate star’ because this is his 50th film! It looks like ‘Mankatha’ has been wrapped up. The team is busy carrying out the post-production work. Director Venkat Prabhu seems to have zeroed in on bringing the film to Ajith fans in July.

Now it looks like there will a battle between the Ajith and Suriya fans.

On the other side we have the Suriya-Murugadoss-Harris team working on ‘7am Arivu.’ This sci-fi thriller sees Suriya and Sruthi haasan teaming up for the first time. ‘7am Arivu’ too is in its post-production stage. The director has revealed that the special effects and the CG in this film will be on par with that of a Hollywood flick! Murugadoss plans to release this film in July as well.

We also hear that both the films might release on a same date. Wow a double treat for movie-buffs this July? Or will it be a clash between the two handsome and most-wanted heroes of the industry?

Ko Beats Ayan Collection

K.V.Anand's Kho has beaten the collection record of his earlier flick Ayan. Jeeva has essayed the charecter of a Photo Journalist and Karthika is his pair. Piya, Ajmal have excelled their roles. Wiht Hariss Jayaraj's mesmarising songs and beautifylly narrated story have become huge hit among the audiences.

K V Anand's ‘Ko’ produced has created a stupendous record at the box-office. The movie has completed a 50-day run and has bettered the collections of K V Anand's previous film Ayan. And, it is still going strong.

‘Ko’ starring Jeeva, Karthika, Ajmal, Piya, Prakash Raj and Kotta Srinivasa Rao was about the travails of a photojournalist. The movie had music by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography by Richard M Nathan. The story and screenplay were handled by writers Subha.

The movie opened in a big way with 350 prints and garnered huge collections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and overseas. ‘Ko’ was dubbed in Telugu as ‘Rangam’ and was released in over 150 prints. ‘Rangam’ opened in a big way winning critical reviews besides huge collections.

‘Ko’ has emerged a genuine hit in Tamil Nadu in 2011. The songs have topped the charts besides the artistes winning acclaims for their stellar performance. K V Anand is a happy man today. The movie had few instances from his life based on his earlier days as a photojournalist.

Prabhu Deva’s ‘Kalavadiya Pozhudugal’ in August

The choreographer turned actor turned director is upbeat about his characterization in the upcoming off beat flick ‘Kalavadiya Pozhudugal.’ Prabhu Deva who has been busy with his directorial ventures so far will be seen in this film in a full length role. Directed by Thangar Bachchan, the film centres around a romantic subject.

Bhoomika will appear in Tamil cinema after a hiatus; she will be seen opposite Prabhu Deva. Prabhu Deva apart from his directorial ventures has also been acting in unique projects like ‘Urumi,’ a period drama, apart from appearing in cameos in his directorial ventures.

Thangar Bachchan, the director of ‘Kalavadiya Pozhudugal,’ is quite positive about his film. The director opines that this film be a milestone in Prabhu Deva’s career; the actor in him has shone through the entire project. The director also feels that this film will be a trend setter in Tamil cinema.

‘Kalavadiya Pozhudugal’ will also see supporting roles from Sathyaraj who will play the role of E.V. Ramaswamy. Prakash Raj, Manivannan and Ganja Karuppu too will be seen portraying various characters in this film.

Vikram’s Raja Pattai commencement details

It is already in the news that Vikram’s Vendhan has been renamed as Raja Pattai. This film is being directed by Suseendran who has churned out three successful films in a row – Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu, Naan Mahaan Alla and Azhagar Saamiyin Kudhirai.

Raja Pattai will commence on June 8^th 2011 at Senthil Studios, which was earlier functioning under the name Mohan Studios, in Chennai. The film’s lead stars Vikram and Deeksha Seth along with the other cast and crew will be present during the pooja and later when the shooting will commence.

Ko sets a Record!

Ko, directed by KV Anand, has created a record at the box office! It has completed 50 days and has surpassed the collections of Ayan, which was also directed by KV Anand. The film was produced by RS Infotainment and distributed by Red Giant Movies.

Ko had some great music by Harris Jayaraj and starred Jiiva, Ajmal, Pia Bajpai and Karthika in the lead roles.

Hangover 2 Receives Grand Opening in Chennai

Released on last Friday, ‘Hangover2’ has become the most talked about film of this season. With big tickets ofTamil film industry keeping itself on hold, the Chennaites have gone gaga overthe league of Hollywood flicks. Fast and Furious 5 that was released before 3weeks is still running house packed due to repeat audiences while ‘Pirates ofthe Caribbean’ overshadowed some of the Tamil releases itself.

But what attracted Chennaites a lot is Hangover 2? The prequel witnessed an incredulous success in Chennai as it crossed 100 days in some multiplexes. It is noteworthy that Venkat Prabhu had designed the looks of his brother Premji Amaran in ‘Goa’ inspired from Zack Galifianakis.

‘Hangover 2’ that is directed and produced by Todd Philips in collaboration with some leading production house of Hollywood has Bradley Cooper, Zack Galifianakis and Ed Helms in lead role. Though the film’s concept remains the same as its prequel, it has grabbed everyone’s attraction with an ease.

The film is running house-packed in almost all the theatres of Chennai and this is the first time a comedy movie from Hollywood is having a grand reception much as action and fantasy flicks.

Meena says that she is not donning the role of Ram Charan Teja’s mother-in-law

There is news that Meena is donning the role of Ram Charan Teja’s mother-in-law. But Meena has refused this news. Meena was one of the leading heroines in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam a few years back. After she married Vidhyasagar, she quit acting.
After some time, she started donning sister and sister-in-law roles. She also acted in some TV serials. At that point of time she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. After this she has completely stopped acting. Now there is news that she is donning the role of Samantha’s mother and Ram Charan Teja’s mother-in-law. Meena while speaking about this said, "I was shocked when I heard the news that I am acting in a film and that also I am donning the role of Ram Charan Teja’s mother-in-law. Recently only I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I cannot leave my baby and act. I have lot of responsibilities. In view of the foregoing I don’t have the intention of acting in films. Asin not in a position to go to Dubai because her passport is stuck up elsewhere

The Hindi film Ready which has Salman Khan and Asin in the lead roles is to be released on 3rd of this month. It was decided to have a première show of this film in Dubai. All the actors and actresses who have acted in this film will be going to Dubai to attend this première.

A great welcome function was also arranged in Dubai. Asin has also decided to attend this function. She wanted to hold Salman’s hands and attend this function. But unfortunately she is not in a position to attend this function. Asin has been signed to do the female lead role in the Hindi film House Full. The shooting of this film is to take place in London. The production executives have taken her passport to obtain visa for her and they are yet to return her passport. Because of this she is not in a position to go to Dubai.

Asin while speaking about this said, "I was getting ready to go Dubai. Now I am not in a position to go there because I am yet to get my passport. Even if I get the passport in the last moment I will fly to Dubai, I have packed all my clothes. I am praying that I should get the passport."
